So, each currency exchanger has a set mark-up percentage they charge in addition to the conversion.
Best to drop in to a few local bank branches and get the info.

It usually varies from 1.5-3%.

Hello all folks,

How are u all doing? Its been a long time since I last posted on this forum.

The update from my end is that my 3rd line has been updated recently for the med received which was done on 24th January.

The twist in the story is that I got married in mid February and I have to add my spouse in my application. Hence, along with my PCC & other requested documents, I have already submitted my spouse's documents to CIC along with a covering letter explaining the situation and a list of documents being sent for my spouse. Further the RPRF fee for both self & spouse was paid and the receipt was attached with the documents.

The question to all the gurus & the mods is "How much time does it take to add spouse to the application?"
Also given that the following list of documents have already been submitted:

1. 06 Photographs – For Secondary applicant (spouse) [Name, Date of Birth & Date of Picture Mentioned behind 5 Photos each].

2. All applicable application form documents.

3. Copy of Valid Indian Passport for secondary applicant.

4. Educational Credentials (Secondary Applicant)

a. Copy of Degree and Mark sheet of Post Graduate Course.

b. Copy of Degree and Mark sheet of Bachelors degree.

c. Copy of Senior Secondary School Certificate & Marksheet.

d. Copy of Higher Secondary School Certificate & Marksheet.

5. Proof of Funds (Primary Applicant):

a. Application Form duly filled with the correct settlement funds for both the applicants.

b. The proof of funds already provided with the primary application are sufficient to cover

6. Copy of the Marriage Certificate

7. Original Police Clearance Certificate

8. Birth Certificate declaration for Secondary Applicant:

a. Photocopy of the Birth certificate

Request early response from you all with regards to the time frame taken to add the spouse and any other documents if they may ask for apart from the ones mentioned above.

Best Regards,
Ashesh

I know i run the risk of sounding desperate but anybody from november received AOR or MR emails yet? What are the timelines after receiving PER email for Nov applicants? Are they still being transferred to warsaw or coloumbo?

What are the sender's email addresses for AOR/MR requests?

You now need to have those funds along or readily available when you enter Canada.
FD wont work. Suggest either of the other options line CAD , in Cand bank account or Travellers cheque. Not sure of a bank draft though.
Hi rvp,

In india how many Canadian banks are there?
means if we keep our funds in that bank's account from here itself will it be oK, and show the final bank statement before landing or FD in the same bank...
bit confused.....

pls suggest

Congo on you marriage mate.

While you didnt metion Application fees, I assume you did sent and probably a draft.

Seniors, my ECAS went live on 2nd feb, application received on 28 Nov, 14. NOC 1114.No PER yet :(. Please advise what to do?

Bud, having the POF in Indian account wont help you.
Scotia bank allows you to open a CAD account in a Canadian branch and deposit one time funds.
You can use that statement to show at port and get through immigration.
Once in Canada, you reach out to that branch and get you account activated and start using it.
There are many other perks also associated with the new immigrant accounts offered for the first year.

PFB an earlier post from papmanindia.

3. Please note. THAT ACCOUNT WILL BE PURELY CANADIAN BANK ACCOUNT. IT IS AS GOOD AS ACCOUNT OPENED IN CANADA.

Just walkin post a telephonic appointment in to the nearest eMedical clinic.
They can validate you details on the basis on you file number and will do you tests too.
Happened with me and that how i did it at "Max Panchsheel, Delhi"

Dont worry, this is just a mail trigegr issue, nothing wrong with your application.
