Making very simple for ppl having POF/carrying amount query:

Per PP/passport - major/minor $10,000 are allowed without any check/verification/questions. It could be in multiples of either :

•cash
•securities in bearer form (for example, stocks, bonds, debentures, treasury bills) or
•negotiable instruments in bearer form (for example, bankers' drafts, cheques, travellers' cheques or money orders).

If intending to bring/carry more than $10000 per PP, tell/declare a Canadian official when you arrive in Canada. A declaration card/form is assigned on that part, you also have to declare currency ... totaling more than CAN$10,000.00 . Failure to do so could result in penalties, seizure and/or prosecution.

CBSA = Canada Border Services Agency

If you fail to declare currency or monetary instruments (signed travellers cheques, bonds, etc) EQUAL TO OR MORE THAN $10000 CAD, then it will be seized under the "proceeds of crime (money laundering) and terrorist financing act". If you have LESS than that, you have no requirement to declare it. You may be asked to show it as part of the Immigration interview.

But
"The name and complete address of the photo studio and the date the photo was taken " is not a mandatory thing
Only thing will suffice is the FULL name as per PP & DOB - and ya also can mention the date of photo taken
Could be in black/blue pen handwritten by oneself

I was asked for new photos and I mentioned the following on 1 photo:
1. Name of photo studio
2. Address
3. Contact No.
4. Data of photo taken

I didn't mention my full name or DOB[ as per Pp], since it was not asked.

Hope the above details are Ok for me

Hi forumites,

I'm very worried, no communication from NDVO so far since 4th Feb'14. Its around 4 months still no sign of DM/PPR. On 4th Feb'15 a call came from NDVO asking about the my overseas PCC which reached them on 18th Nov'14. And since then no response I mailed them twice but no response, its not only frustrating but also depressing.

Don't understand what are they exactly doing with my application.

Please advice what to do now.

As per the guidelines mention on this link http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/pdf/kits/guides/3998E_tempA.pdf DOB and Name is not required

But as per discussion going on this thread suggest to print Name and DOB... Please clarify which one is good to go... I already submitted photos without DOB and Name...

Please suggest...

Keep a note Folks !

Its quite obvious if the photos sent at the time of Application, seems questioning to the visa officials they may ask to get new/recent photos for each members at the time of PPR.
But we can be active/alert in terms that., as per the norms any pics has to be not older than 6 months, the time we applied and the time of PPR arrival is quite a long period, so even if a new/recent photos is asked, be prepared folks to get a new ones, ahead of the PPR arrival so that you can save a day or two, as PPR is always a BIG milestone for all, and no one wants to wait a minute after that

In case you are not asked to submit new pics, you can always carry those with you in Canada, so go for it ;D

Hi Socc3rguy... Congrats once again - since you didn't see my earlier congratulations ... I was off by 3 hours in my prediction and you felt so bad about it that you went away for 2 days....

It was dull boring 2 days from NDVO as it seems they are back to hibernation ... Seems, it will be some wait for us.
