Sharing my VFS Passport submission experience (Mumbai - Bandra BKS Office)
- It took hardly 10 minutes to finish the submission process, after getting inside the VFS office on the 5th floor, Trade Center Building, BKC
- FYI: I submitted my previous cancelled passport as well along with current valid. Reason: Just in case if Immigration Officer
wants to review the past visits and visa. I also have valid US Visa on my previous cancelled passport (Before Marriage)
- Note that VFS accepts ONLY Cash, and you can Draw from ICICI ATM machine at the same building on the ground floor, right near the lift.
- Fee Details, Per Passport: Rs 638/- .
- Note that you can opt for SMS service Alerts, by paying Rs 55 extra for each passport. That way you can receive updates, besides online status tracking, for when your passports are dispatched from new delhi.
- YES, BKS Bandra(Mumbai) VFS office has passport collection option. So you can opt for "No Courier". I did that, always safer to collect Passport in person.
- The collection time is 2 pm to 4 pm (Monday to Friday)
- Note that at the time of collection, authorization letter along with self attested identify proof of the non-accompanying family member will be needed. Needless to say, you will need to carry your own identify proof (in Original) as well.
- Note that your online VFS passport tracking number takes about 3-4 hours to get activated. So dont panic if you check the status immediately after getting back home/office and you see an error "No details found matching the input values"
