They only shows people who are taken to secondary for various reason. Every one is subject to secondary examination while crossing border but not all are taken to secondary.

Hi Goku,

How is life in canada?
Is there a link where you shared your experience??

Hi,

I have one question, my fixed deposit is valid till July month. My per date is on 30-Nov-2014 still haven't got second line updated. So I think my visa processing will get completed after the validity of my FD will it make any kind of problem.

Thaks

Got PPR from Los Angeles

I'm grateful to you all for your help in getting me the PR visa. I wanted to point out how long it takes to get the visa stamped in the US i.e. add a month after getting PPR. (for Indians who cannot send their passport to Canada.)

  • PPR from CPC-O: Jan 8 (I Immediately responded to print visa in the US)
  • PPR from Los Angeles: Jan 30
  • Passport Received by LA: Feb 3
  • Passport Sent/Mailed from LA: Feb 12
  • Passport Received: Feb 14

How long is the visa valid?

Until I got my visa, I had always wondered how long would it be valid for. It seems to be that a few days longer than 1 year from the date you completed the Medical. (Ensure that your passport is valid for at least a year and a half after the date of your Medical.)

  • Medical Completed: Nov 5, 2014
  • eMedical Entry/File Completed: Nov 13, 2014
  • Medical Updated in ECAS: Nov 24, 2014
  • Visa Valid up to: Nov 20, 2015

Congratulations and thanks for the info

The key here being"in cash". While I am still not sure if it's true for immigration as it does not give any refrence and suggests that the limits are more for India travelling abroad for tourism and business.
Still, the said limit is to control Money Laundering. More money can be carried in form of Traveller's cheque and/or pre-paid cards.

See question 10 in below link (FAQ on RBI's website). It says you can carry upto $100,000 USD , if more then you need permission from RBI.

Nopes.
Make sure that the liquid funds are avaiable in the account if asked for or you can reinvest in another shorted FD.

Hi dears,

Is it okay to give a different 'current mailing address' than your 'current residential address'? Plz guide.

Yup, Thanks. narrowed my search to USD 5000 only .

Thanks for the reply rvp_deltario
Like what you said if I reinvest, then the details I have mentioned related funds in application will mismatch right

Yes, but thats not a problem.
I assume it's the same account and if you were to get a statement extract, it would show the matured funds moving back and again an X amount being reinvested.

That's what i did. Just finished my 2nd FD maturity.

Hi Guys, I got married on 06/12/14 and sent RPRF on 15/2/14, without disclosing that I got married.

Now, I have all the paperwork, got maintenance funds to show and am willing to add my spouse's file along with me (Lucky that I am still waiting for PPR) . . . . My question is:

1.) To speed up process, is it possible to send her medical results in advance . . . . . i.e. I get medical results sorted out early and send them

2.) secondly, approximately how long, will I need to wait to get PPR for both of us from hereon . . . .

Thanks,
AJ
