A Query for How much money to bring while entering Canada

  • There is no limit to bring money to Canada by a PR
  • You need to declare at immigration check that you hold more than $10,000
  • It is not mandatory to bring/carry the same amount that you showed at the time of filling/showing Financial Proof (forms)
  • Other money if less than $10000 you can carry a travelers cheque/DD or even can transfer money later on when you are settled
  • Immigration Check team/people will sure make sure that you have enough money for 1 year survival before you are landing
  • This thing they will conclude by few basis questions in form of small interview at time of immigration check
  • The money you have showed POF or intending to carry are already taxed, so whenever you bring to canada in some part of full, those amount will always be non taxable in Canadian terms and accounts
  • In case of transferring huge amounts, one need to prove that all part of it is already taxed within your origin country

My weekly +ONE brother.. a big CONGRATULATIONS on you Visa stamped.. All the best my friend.

For someone who asked what's the difference between getting PCC, from local PS / PSK

The differences between this 2 places are.

PSK - Online registration> fill form > take appointment > pay online
- from Psk > verification goes to local police station > then to SP/commissioner office > returns back to PSK
- certificate issued = Police Clearance Certificate = PCC
- extra - they do stamp on our PP, as well with PC

Local Police Station - No appointment/ walk-in > ask for a form > fill it > attached required docs
- after verification > docs goes to SP/Commissioner office > from here have to collect the certi after 10 days
- certificate issued = Police Verification Certificate = PVC
- they do not stamp on PP, just the certi is issued

This is for Gujarat, Not sure of other states

Hi Palak,

Just saw that you have been issued the visa. Many congratulations to you. Splendid work done on the forum.

Looks like you raise CSE to the wrong VO.
Try the link for LVO.

I raised CSE regarding my marriage issue and got the following reply. Now how to contact LVO ?

Sir, Madam,

Thank you for contacting Citizenship and Immigration Canada. I am pleased to follow up on your request:

File at Visa Office or Specialized Office

Since your file is located at a Canadian visa office outside Canada or a specialized office inside Canada, you would need to contact them in order to obtain information regarding the status of your application or to update your address

Cheers Mate !!

Dear Experts,

I need urgent advice for my case.

Unfortunately a gallstone was detected and I had first attack of it on same day I got PER January 22, 2015. As far as I know gallstones are silent for many years and can be removed only by surgery, the second attack may take many year depends on individual. Apart from that everything is normal

I am expecting medical in 2 months. I have following queries:
1. I am having gallstone of 15 mm in Gallbladder will that cause any problem in medical?
2. Will the gallstone be identified in X-rays?
3. Can my application be rejected due to presence of gallstone?
4. Should I disclose the presence of gallstone during medical?
5. I can undergo surgery but doctor advised not to go unless there is 2nd attack. The surgery removes gallbladder and second attack may take may years if the gallstone is silent. What should I do?
6. I have already shown POF around CAD 43000 against required CAD 18297. So I can undergo surgery if situation arise in future. Will WVO consider this too?
7. My file is with WVO instead of NDVO so will they reject due to this reason?
8. Do Ahemdabad Apollo hospital update e-medical results online? Are they having this facility?
9. Can anybody undergoing medicals inquire with the doctors about this that cane the file be rejected due to gallstones?

Seniors palak, diplomatru, cano, goku and other experts please reply I am worried and tensed.

For the gallstone no need to undergo any surgery, just do a Gallbladder cleanse and you will be fine.

I have tried it myself and have got rid of 5 stones 20 mm each.
Also this is something which is not seen in the xray. One has to do ultrasound to check the gallstone

Hello Seniors,

I got my PER on 28th Jan this year and CIC told me that they transferred my docs to Warsaw(via Cu care). So, i was thinking to apply for my PCC even before my AOR or MR so that I can have it ready when they request for it. Do you think it is a good idea, considering the fact that the validity or PCC is 6 months(INDIA) and VO can take any number of months after PER to send MR?

Looking forward to your suggestions.

thanks

Sakar13,

X-Ray are of the chest. Unless it is also covering abdomen it won't show up.
However It can raise suspicious through a blood test.
If the "Lipase level's" are high the doctor may feel the need for further investigation.
Ultrasound are the sure shot ways of detecting them and that test won't be part of your MR.
I would like to point out that the tests are look for few key medical condition which can increase cost to the state once you in Canada, gallstone I doubt is one of them.

In my opinion, you should be fine with MR.
However do take care of you health.

Congrats on your PPR an all the best with your wife's pregnancy.
TAT for a CSE response in 30 days. Best to raise the query today, they will revert back with all the necessary documentation needed.
Ensure that once the child is born, you efficiently work towards getting his/her passport in place.
