Hi GrantM...No i am not in Canada. I am in India and have applied from India itself. All the addresses, documents were sent with my address.

Even in the emails received from their side, the address is correctly mentioned i.e of India.

I hope everything is ok.

If you are already in Canada I think your VO automatically becomes Ottawa.

I got one question... :) for VO: CPC-Ottawa

Applicants who are already in Canada ... When they get there PASSPORT back from CPC -O after stamping, do passport also contains Immigrant visa on passport + COPR or only COPR ..??

I know about applicants already residing outside of Canada gets both but I'm just concerned about already inland applicants ..??

Thanks in advance

It has Immigration Visa (only those who are from non-visa exempt country) & COPR. Those who are from Visa exempt country receive COPR in mail.

Groundhog Day is an important ceremony in Canada!

What is Groundhog Day?

It's when a Groundhog, an animal that looks
like a large squirrel, comes out of hibernation
to confirm the end of Winter and the start of the
Spring season! If it doesn't come out, then it's
still Winter in Canada!
Groundhog Day is not a public holiday in Canada. However areas around parks and some streets may be busy or congested in towns, such as Wiarton, where Groundhog Day events are popular.

Hi Everyone,

I'm new to this forum. Have submitted my medicals and landing fee has also been paid.
Need advice from seniors - Is it good to attend CIIP session in New Delhi (orientation program for new comers in Canada). ??
The only concern is that I have not got the 4th line updated yet.

Please advice ?

Regards,

Raman
It is good to attend the CIIP session. Some of the members from this forum had attended and they said that it was very much informative.
My suggestion would be to attend it.
And please update the spreadsheet. :)

ANY JUNE 19 OR PRIOR APPLICANTS LEFT TO RECEIVE MEDICAL REQUEST FROM NDVO?

I posted it on page 12754. Below I quote:

PCC is related to Criminality check not security check. If one receives PCC along with MR, that means they are still working on your Criminality check

For details about what Security check is and what Criminality check is go to below link(details on CIC website, not on third party website):

Security check: https://www.csis.gc.ca/scrtscrnng/index-en.php

Criminality check: http://www.rcmp-grc.gc.ca/cr-cj/index-eng.htm

P.S Security check is a very lengthy and time consuming process. So thats the reason people have to wait for 1-2 months for PPR, People from some countries have to wait for even 3 months. Some VO's complete security check faster because of less work load.

This is what they have written and I quote
Immigration and Citizenship Screening
While Canada's long and valued tradition of welcoming immigrants and visitors continues, Canada and its allies must maintain a heightened and sustained vigilance to counter acts of political or religiously motivated violence and espionage, all of which constitute a threat to our personal and national security, including our economic security. Maintaining the integrity of the immigration system is a vital part of strengthening Canada's security environment.

The objective of CSIS's Immigration and Citizenship Screening Program is to prevent non-Canadians who pose security risks from entering or receiving status in Canada. The program is founded on the security-related criteria contained in the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act (IRPA) and the Citizenship Act; therefore, CSIS provides security advice regarding immigration and citizenship matters to Citizenship and Immigration Canada (CIC) and to the Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA). CSIS also conducts security screening of Canadian visa applicants and prospective immigrants in cases where the applicant presents potential security concerns.

So my question is what are the things they check and how...

Like for economy check they will check Bank statements etc.

what about other things what else they in Security clearance.
