It does, but the rhetoric they use is quite unusual.

From which email address did they send you the email?

I am currently on a post-graduate work permit in Canada, and the WP expires end of March'15. I have applied under the FSW 2014 and my application reached on 12/31/2014. Not sure if my card would be charged before March and/or I receive my PER before my WP expires.

Any thoughts, what can be done?

Apply for visitor visa

It was not sent to me. This being said, I also wonder whether the email could have been sent from CIIP and pertains to a completely different CIIP rather than CIC file?

You have two-three options,

1) Applying for work-permit through ur current employer... But that would require LMIA, if they are willing to provide it, u can proceed with work permit application

2) Chances of getting PER before march seems to be high (presuming your PGWP ends by the end of March), then U can file online application using PER and imm file number

3) If above two cases do not apply, the only option u left with is to apply without LMIA but will be difficult.... But...u Can remain as visitor and apply for visitor permit and that will restrict u from doing Job

It is good idea to see ur local MP and explain ur situation... they could help

Good luck...

I visited "who is eligibile" link at CIIP website ( www.newcomersuccess.ca) . It is mentioned there that participating in CIIP is entirely voluntary and it will not affect immigration process any way.

I guess they mentioned in their mail to close CIIP file instead of CIC.

If you don't receive PER before a week of work permit expires, make an paper application for BOWP. Mostly you will be charged, once you get charged keep track of you ECAS. If first line shows up on ECAS then include the print our of ECAS and CC charge in your BOWP paper application.

If you don't hear anything for paper application for BOWP with in a month then apply for Visitors Visa or Student Visa. Just remember you will have 90 days to restore your status from the day your work permit expires. You will have to leave Canada before or on 90th day. Otherwise, you will be illegal resident of Canada and that can create a trouble in your PR application.

If you receive PER before your Current WP expires then apply for BOWP online.

Hope this helps.

He doesn't have to go through LMIA headache. Bridge Open work permit is the easiest option for him.

Dear CIIP Client,

You had confirmed your intention to participate in the Group Orientation (GO) that took place in Bangalore this week, however you failed to attend and we have not received an explanation for your absence.

The Government of Canada had committed significant resources to deliver the GO and the personalized My Action Plan (MAP) sessions. In addition, we had turned away a number of clients because the session was full. Your failure to attend has therefore not only deprived others of the opportunity to participate, but also wasted Canadian resources. Moreover, you have not taken advantage of a free service designed to enhance your job prospects in Canada.

Unless we hear from you within the next two days, we will initiate the process to close your file.

Regards,

But he can apply for bridging work permit only after PER, and in case, he does not get PER he has to have LMIA

Also.... restoring status costs money... as long as he applies before expiry of WP, he does not need to apply to restore status

Also plz read complete post

It strikes me that they are referring to the FSW file. According to OB relevant to 2014 MIs, CIC can cancel the file based on substituted negative determination of eligibility (CIIP participation is based on some sort of informed and ongoing consent, which may mention the obligations of the applicant, and the consequences for not meeting them). It might be difficult to explain that both the applicant and the spouse had medical emergencies at the same day.
