the new IMM008 has no option of selecting visa office - files have been routed based on inventory and d-memo..
applicant has no control over which vo to choose anymore

Even I got PER just now (code 2281, App received date 11th Sept). However it says, "Applications previously destined for Abidjan, Ivory Coast will now be transferred to Dakar, Senegal. Your application therefore will be transferred to the visa office in Dakar."
If applicant does not have control over choosing VO anymore, can someone throw light on how further process will happen. Do we need to visit Africa if interview is required?

Congrats...that was jet speed..LVO is really firing on all cylinders..i am August 27th too....DD encashed on 4th Dec and no PER yet..

I think it is clear now why CIC has updated the IMM008 form and cancelled the choice of Visa office because they would like to re-distribute the applications fairly and hence, they will tackle the backlog at some visa offices. That is a great job and it will speed the issue of visas. +1 for CIC ;D

I also received today PER mail and instead of New Delhi they have mentioned Dakar Senegal as my visa office in the mail.
Is it a general infomration or they really trasnfered my file to Senegal visa office?

I am residing in India and applied from India.

How can CIC do this?

Which part of your PER mail indicated about visa off name?

For me, its generally mentioned everywhere...like follows:

"However a final decision on your eligibility to be selected as a federal skilled worker will be made by a visa office.

Please inform the visa office of any changes in your application (e.g. birth or adoption of a child, marriage or common-law relationship, new occupation or employer, submission of an Arranged Employment Opinion approved by Human Resources and Skills Development Canada, change of address, change of e-mail address, change of immigration representative, etc)."

Hey guys,
Hope you guys are doing fine. Just an update from my side which I thought I should give.
Just returned from Goa. Checked my email and saw that CIC had replied to my query dated 1st Nov on 24th Dec. The email says that my application was recd by them on 20th Oct (though my courier tracking says that application was recd by DAN on 2nd Sept). The email further says that my application is under initial processing.
I had honestly lost all hope for PER, as there has been no status on my application, but looking at this email, I am really happy, though effectively, my application is delayed by around 48 days.
Will get back to the forum in 2-3 days time.

Hi,

I applied for FSW-2014 under the category of 4011 (University lecturer / professor). My application date is 31st July. I got PER on 21st November, 2014 and AOR letter is not received yet. Visa office is Singapore.

I am wondering whether quitting my current job will have any impact on my PR processing. Do you think if I quit my job, I will be ineligible to get the PR? Would I have to notify CIC regarding the change of my employment?

The reason of quitting my job is to live with my husband in Germany.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

99% of applicants have been waived the interview...Believe me,CIC would like to close FSWP as soon as possible regardless minor mistakes or errors

Congrats..you must be lucky...and am happy fellow August 27th mates are getting MR even though i am yet to get a PER...but DD has been encashed since 4th Dec....All other Aug 27th mates enjoin you to celebrate as we await our own good news in all the stages.
