I'm 11th July Applicant

PER received: 6th November
Visa Office: Cairo
Now I'm waiting the AOR from the local VO

but the problem is in the closure of Cairo visa office due to security issues,

Does anyone know to what extent this will affect on my document processing ?

And I heard that if my local VO is closed, my file can be processed in Ottawa, is this true ??

Just Called CIO to know my application status..But no luck

Here is pretty much what happened in the conversation....

CIO guy: Do u have identity/UCI?
ME: No..Would u please provide me?

CIO guy: Give me ur first name, last name, and finally date of birth..
ME:....(provided the information)

The guy asked me to wait for a while because he needs to check.
After a minute he came back and replied...

CIO: When did u send the application?
ME: 4th Sep 2014.

CIO: We are currently not working with ur application..(u gotta be kidding me )
ME: What does it mean? I applied under 2171..which as per CIC website, has already been capped..Can u tell me whether it is in the cap?

CIO: No, It is just we have not worked with ur application yet...u might have to wait...
ME: Can u tell me whether my application has been returned??

CIO: I dont have that information..u have to wait...if we need any information we will contact with u...
ME: Thanks a lot....Appreciate your feedback.

Did you guys notice the change in Generic application form.

I sent the application package last week. The time when I sent, I used the latest updated version (November 2014) & it had no option to choose the "immigration office requested for processing this application".

Did any one inquire about this to CIC. I followed the rule to use the latest application package. But still cant stop thinking about which VISA office will process my application.

Don't worry in updated form there is no option to select the Visa Office. CIC will select appropriate Visa Office according to your current stay.

Hi,

Got my second line updated in online today.

It says "We have started processing your application on Dec 16th". But, i havent received any emails.

Does this mean processing has been started by the VO and how much time will it take to get a medical request?

Also, I am applying for PCC online from Bangalore. For the reference details, it asks for 2 references. Should they be in bangalore or can I give my hometown references. Is parents details acceptable as reference.
