@ analystpk

But I have received responses on the same forum to show the same amount in assets as settlement funds are part of assets.

1 - If you have shown the accurate value for your settlement funds and you have backed it up with satisfactory proof then you are fine.

2 - However, if you have shown other values as total asset, you are not required to provide absolute proof of that (Liabilities is another debate).

3 - Therefore as long as Point 1 is met, you should be fine. Your application will not be rejected based on your accountancy skills.

Again this is an FYI - Assets INCLUDE Settlement Funds.

Guys I am having on a vacation for one month on outside country ( USA) .

For this reason I may not be able to respond any PM/queries/posts accordingly....

No update yet from my side ...

Pray for me....

@nishesh3003

So what I am doing is, I am mentioning CAD$ 15000 in assets (which is actually the settlement fund amount) and then CAD$ 15000 in settlement funds. That is fine?

Settlement Fund is an Asset and should be included in the total value of assets that you present to CIC.

However, I do not believe that this would be a critical issue if you do not include the value of the settlement fund in the total value of assets.

@ Yusha,

Thanks for the replies. For the assets point. I am only showing total amount in CAD Dollars in bank for which I am showing bank certificate and statements. But I have heard people at forum that the same amount should be mentioned in the assets column of the form as well because assets means it includes settlement funds. I am not showing any property etc.

Good luck!

Thank you for the clarification nishesh3003

And I think it is the same story as with early chargings and PERS, which took 30 days. At some point CIC partner agencies got overwhelmed with requests for security checks and, thus PPR speed has reduced. If one NDVO May applicant ordered GCMS notes, it would be clear which checks are complete for early applicants.

Getting GCMS notes itself will take 4 to 5 weeks and those may applicants they are waiting PPR's may get actual request meantime....If they are not issuing PPR for anybody till this month end then it is better to order....

I've shown the same amount of assets as settlement funds, although my total assets are much bigger as my assets include real estate. Was that a mistake that may cost me my permanent residence?

No it won't cost you anything.

Although 'Full Disclosure' is the fundamental principal that should be followed in the process, but all said and done, this has very low probability (if any at all) of affecting your application.

At best, the local VO may ask you for an updated form (if he so feels, which almost never happens) at that's about it.

There is a reason why CIC does not exert a lot of importance on 'justifying your assets' outside your settlement funds.
