hello all

I have done with medicals and soon gona get ppr. hopefully by jan I will get PR visa. I m planning to depart in feb inshAllah.

now I would like to have some suggestions from you guys. 1st of all which flight to take from Karachi to Toronto?
some options under budget/economy class are like

range in PKR
220000 to 285000
PIA
Saudi airlines
Turkish airline
Etihad airways
cathay pacific

300000+
emirates
Qatar air
Singapore airlines

now only pia operates a direct flight, others are having from 1 stop to upto 4 stops. with recent problems going on in PIA, my heart is not favoring it. what u guys says? any advice or suggestions? and how soon should I book tickets to get good price like 1 month b4 or 2 months b4 or what?

second thing in economy class, almost all flights are allowing two bags as checked baggage with 23 kg each, total 46 kg per person and 7 kg cabin baggage with additional laptop bag or a short bag pack. what things we must take with us in limited 46kg? I have read on internet that people suggests not to bring any of the electronics and electrical items except laptop and mobile phones, cos they have this 110 volt issue and 2ndly everything is available there are discount stores so instead of bringing them in limited weight, buy from there. no need to bring hair dryers, hot plates, electric shavers, etc

same goes for crockery things.....like cooking utensils, plates, spoons, knives and else else. even cooking ingredients like masala and other things are available there.

people says only bring warm cloths.....inner wears and what ever quality warm cloths u can, woolen cloths, sweaters, muflers, gloves, socks, still the upper and jackets and boots have to buy from there.

kids cloths are very costly, bring as much kid cloths with u as u can. there are no discount or bargain clothing shops in Canada, like we have zainab market in Karachi, hyderi market or other cloth stores where cheap quality cloths can be bought regardless of brand thing.

so if its all true, then we have to take with us only cloths.....and nothing.

members who have landed there regardless of any nationality please shed some light on this thing. also give me advice and suggestions on these things. I have a family of 2, a wife and kid of 3 years age.

thanks

Hi
Just follow few things:-
1. How so ever we want to be in Canada and love winters from here it is highly advised that first timers shall visit in April to Sept only just an advice.
2.take the cheapest flight since u wil have to manage a lot at ur disposal initially from ur savings

Nothing to demotivate just a advice to motivate ;D

Congrats! +1 to you! Please update the SS.

Here is an overview of the process: http://www.fsw2014.info/the-stages-of-an-application/

Thanks Idefix...I have updated SS.

As I have also received MR+RPRF+updated information chart requested (is it PPR1) and does this mean my interview has been waived?

Usually PPR1 + MR + RPRF means your interview has been waived, yes.

They may call you at a latter stage, but it's pretty rare :). Congrats!

Please take those advise of MayM99 seriously. It is not easy to move into Canada in Winter. The body sometimes react harshly to it. If you are with kid there is high tendency of sickness etc. Just wait a lil bit till spring. Good luck

Also keep in mind that companies are more active regarding recruiting during the months of April and September which means job hunting could be more effective during this time.

Hey everybody,

Since the thread is a bit boring today (except for those very select few that got CC or PER), here's some fun trivia about Canada:

1. People in Churchill leave their car doors unlocked in case their neighbours need to make a quick escape from polar bears.

4. For one day in 1943, Ottawa designated a hospital room to be “extraterritorial” (international) ground so a Dutch princess could be born a full Dutch citizen.
(A Dutch requirement for her to keep her princess title.)

5. And every year the Netherlands sends Canada thousands of tulips to show their gratitude.

13. Canada is the most educated country in the world.

20. The nation's official phone number is 1-800-O-Canada.

24. There is a strategic maple syrup reserve.

27. The Citizenship and Immigration Minister declared that Santa Claus is Canadian. (Before us! Has he passed all the tests we did? What was his IELTS??)

You can check the whole list here: http://www.buzzfeed.com/tanyachen/delightful-facts-about-canada
You rock man! I owe you a +1 ;D

Use this for complete understanding: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/express-entry/grid-crs.asp

There is also a beta calculator on canadavisa.com that's easier to use.

Dear friends,

I have received my request for PCC, medical and RPRF. However, I recently realized that I have mistakenly mentioned "NO" to 6D "Schedule A", whereas I was refused a US visa 2 years ago. I totally mentioned "NO" inadvertently/by mistake as I missed that 6D mentions other countries as well.

Is there a way out to the situation now? I feel like writing an email to LVO, apologize on mistake and request them to allow me to send new Schedule A along with PCCs and RPRF. Will that be successful?

Please advise and also please share if anyone has experienced similar situation and come out of it successfully and what did they do?

Anxiously waiting for your kind responses.

Thanks,
Sully

Pls chk thread 10237, 10238, 10239. You will find helpful advice. God bless you.
