please any body help me
i will land in the end of this year in Toronto, what type of the clothing should be taken and if there is any list of stuff that should be taken. i am single and want a cheap single room in any hostel. and what area is better for new commers.

Good quality Winter wear is most imoortant. Buy clothes which you can wear in layers. Temprature in winter drops to -10 to -15 in Toronto and goes upto 35-40 degree in summers.

Carry some regular/daily use things for initial settelment as spending too much money in initial days is not at all advisable.

Good luck

Looks like somebody already started shopping :P

NOC 1112 Financial and investment analysts | 1000
NOC 2173 Software engineers and designers | 1000
NOC 2174 Computer programmers and interactive media developers | 1000
NOC 2171 Information systems analysts and consultants | 553 |-Close to cap.Oct applicants should be in.This might absorb 1st week in Nov.
NOC 2132 Mechanical engineers| 532 |-Close to cap. This might absorb till 3rd week in Nov.
NOC 3012 Registered nurses and registered psychiatric nurses | 469|-Warning to Dec applicants
NOC 2281 Computer network technicians| 365 |-Warning to Dec applicants

This analysis does not stop you from applying to NOC 2171,2132,2281 and 3012.

Wishing all applicants good luck.

What is the criteria of this estimation ? I can understand about others but 2171 is likely on risk like NOC 2173?

Dear good folks here,

My application was received and signed by Mike on August 18th. I was applying for NOC 1111. But so far there isn't anything yet. How does my chance look like? Is it possible that this category has been capped?

Thanks!

It is advisable to buy your winter gear from Canada. I don't need to tell you how soon to buy it upon landing, coz I'm sure you will do that the first thing after getting out of the airport...

You must have resided in Canada for at least three years (1,095 days) in the past four years before you apply for citizenship.
When you are a permanent resident, you can live outside of Canada, but must live in Canada for at least two years in a five-year period. If you live outside of Canada for longer, you may lose your permanent resident status.

A sincere request to all... reply ONLY when you have the facts and numbers right...your one wrong reply could affect someone's planning and application...

I'm thinking to keep my job in my home country for the first year after landing if my fsw application is successful. Is there a restriction in order to keep PR status for how many days in a year the person must live in Canada? I don't think they permit a person to live outside Canada for 3 years continuously then fly back to Canada for the rest 2 years to retain PR status. Any ideas?

Oh..k.

Thanks bro.!

Can we carry electronic items (to Canada) that we bought in India?

I have a HP Printer that i feel will be very much required in Canada. Can i carry that with me? I read somewhere that voltage requirements, etc do not match and its useless carrying electronics from India.
