Friends from India,
Need you help. For the circumstances I find myself in, I know I need to do my own thinking and I will.
But could you please PM me with your perspectives so that I can make an informed and well thought out decision?

I have a globally ranked MBA from the UK (25th in global Financial Times ranking of worldwide MBA programs, ironically 2 positions higher than IIMA PGPX) but could not make the most out of it as the B-school brand so reputed in the UK does not directly translate to Indian MBA career scenarios. In the hope of having a jump start in my career, I applied to IIMA PGPX this year and have an admit offer but a second MBA appears to be an overkill specifically given the costs (fee of 25 lacs plus opportunity cost of not working = 15 lacs).

I got my PR on 28th Oct for NOC 2171. And I have not wanted anything so desperately as I now want a Canadian PR. Even if I get a PR, it would of course be a tough ask to find an interesting career but I am very much willing to put in all the effort and get thru' any difficulties. But the IIMA offer feels too good to resist as I can get to a better position and pay grade with an Indian employer and travel abroad on work; may be 2 years from now. Hence, the dilemma.

I am 35, and work in IT (SAP consulting) for an Indian MNC. Have worked in 2 EU countries (an year each) but feel that I am way behind people of similar age group in India in terms career accomplishments and the level of business leadership roles/positions held. There is no option to defer my admit offer and if I take it with the resulting liabilities I won't be able to fulfill proof of funds requirements.

I am almost inclined towards chasing the Canadian dream but am open to weigh pros and cons.
Thanks a lot for your help and as always you guys and girls rock :)

Look forward to receiving your inputs and as we share the same dream of making a life in Canada, I thought you guys are in the best position to understand and help me.

Best regards,
Kishcanada

brother I m not from india but just giving my inputs.

u r still 35....young stallion like most of us...I have seen people over 45, having set life in asia, kids set in schools, everything set....still they leave everything for Canadian Dream (yes, 30 years back it was American Dream, now its Canadian Dream!)...

these lions (yes in 45 people are lions :D) face some of the following problems but still its worth it immigrating to Canada!

....their credential worth is no more than s h i t in Canada even they have wes or ces or whatever.....they all go and upgrade their credentials no matter its a diploma, degree or short courses or whatever....in this case u can be lucky if ur mba is accepted there which i think will be....

....people leave their managerial and executive posts and start from the scratch in Canada......obviously the employer there requires Canadian experience which 99% of us don't have so a CEO in asia cant expect to be CEO in Canada from the day 1......unless some miracle happens......so keep in mind that u even don't get a decent start......that means u have to do odd jobs or jobs wont even worth ur Int. MBA!......yeah people make fun of flipping burgers or standing in stores or waiters in hotels or taxi drivers or helpers or whatever u call it......... but that happens with 90% of the immigrants with no Canadian education and no Canadian experience!.......

......not a personal home, not a car, not a life u were passing in ASIA.......but yes after 10 years and some efforts.....u will get a life that u wont even dream in ASIA.....its not all about owing a house or a car or a helicopter.....its all about the standard of life and the value u will gain by living there....ur kids get that valuable education from the start which is not available in asia (we just copy paste their system, we don't have our own latest educational system)...the health care u will get here is priceless.....the peaceful society, loving human beings (in Asia we have 4 to 5 different religion people still cant live together....here the world is living together peacefully and with love).....the Canadian passport is world's 2nd most powerful passport....u get visa free entry into 45 countries of the world including some European and Arabian countries!

in the end its your own decision but if u ask from 100 guys, 99 will say to immigrate. no matter u wont find managerial job here but still with out of field jobs and other things it will worth it coming here.

Hi folks,
My Credit Card CVV is a 3 digit number which starts with 0. As I put the 0 as the first digit, it was omitted automatically by the acrobat reader. I tried on other PCs, it was also the same; so I just typed "xx" instead of "0xy". I wonder whether there is a difference between "xx" and "0xx" or even "00xy" for a CVV and why the form is like that? Does anyone have the same experience? My application is at CIO now. I asked some guys, hey told me that you should have written by black pen instead.
Thanks

I agree, a missing digit could certainly cause problem, if 0 was getting omitted then you should have used "O" instead of "0" or at least written the CVV using a pen.

You should send out a new payment form ASAP to CIO with full CVV. Good luck!

It'll be mentioned in your PER. In any case your ECAS status is not useful before PER is issued. So you've to wait until you hear from CIO.

Belated Birthday Jaxon
