I have a query ..
i had worked in Nigeria for two years that ended August 2013.. for which i got the PCC issued by the relevant authorities..
My PCC has a validity date mentioned on it which is for a period of three months from the date of issue..
Do i have to arrange for another PCC as the previous one has validity date mentioned on it..Am awaiting MR , PCC & RPRF request.

Please check ECAS for any update and it will take around 50 to 60 days to get MR after getting PER.

Processing fee is non-refundable.

My view on CC blockage: It is extremely unethical. CIO got the right to charge once they process your application - it is denying their fees after they rendered you the service. If CC lost, it is something unintentional. But advising to block CC is devilish suggestion. However, anybody can send letter to CIO to withdraw his/her application before it is processed. In that case, it is CIO's discretion whether the application will be processed or not. To me, they should not process it.

Referring to Section 5.3 of the manual for Application received after May 4, 2013, (http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/resources/manuals/op/ op06c-eng.pdf.....) you can, on the contrary request for refund of your cost recovery fee before they determine your eligibility. To extract that statement, I copied it below:

The cost recovery fee is payable at the time the application is made to the CIO. An applicant may withdraw an application and receive a refund of the cost recovery fee at any time before processing of the application begins at the CIO. This rule also applies to applications that are not eligible for processing according to the Ministerial Instructions. Once processing has begun at the CIO, the cost recovery fee is not refundable.
Note: For the Federal Skilled Worker Class, processing starts with a positive determination of eligibility for processing at the CIO following assessment against the criteria of applicable Ministerial Instructions. In order to be eligible to receive a refund of the cost recovery fee, an applicant must request a withdrawal of their application before this determination of eligibility for processing has been made. If an applicant requests a change in immigration class at any time, a new application and new cost recovery fee must be submitted. An applicant may have more than one application in process at a given time, but only one application can be finalized with visa issuance. Any additional applications must therefore be finalized as withdrawn or refused.

My take on blocking the card as unethical and devilish, is if you are actually denying the recipient a payment of a service that they deserve. Totally true and I completely agree.

But in some cases and if done properly, i.e. writing to CIO about withdrawal request and sent/received as per their given time frame, I believe that they should not even bother going to the part of opening your paper let alone going to the payment page, hence no service had been done to your application. But should their procedure still requires them to take the payment anyway, the card blocking will save them from a lot more trouble of going through the refund process.

I don't know, I could be wrong, but I'm just saying.

Update period after PER is 45-60 days....
So you need to wait till December mid to get any update...

Have a question, I didn't provide PCC in the original application and NDVO hasn't asked for one in the MR and RPRF mail. Anything like this has happened to anyone?

Ishu - There is a group for August applicants "http://www.canadavisa.com/canada-immigration-discussion-board/fsw-2014-august-applicants-t240682.0.html"... Request you to please post your queries in that Group so that it isn't missed... However, Although completeness checks are over at CIC for August applicants, but that does not ensure that you really passed or failed the completeness checks. Pls wait for some more time and you should be hearing the updates after 20 November as per the current flow of work CIC is undertaking.

Hi all,
I am done with my MR documents. Just wanted to share some information, regarding PCC from INDIA.

Please do not go for PCC from Commissioner office, it has the date (residing ur current address) which would apparently not accepted by embassy.
Go for PCC from passport office and the method of obtaining this is very simple:
1. Book a appointment (dont select any date), just walk-in on weekday between 9-11am.
2. If your current address is different then passport address then you need to have one additional document with you. This document can be your Nationalized Bank transaction or POSTPAID mobile bill of any service provider.
3. I did not have account in nationalized bank so what i did is collected the Postpaid mobile bill, took the colored printout of the first page and took a stamp of any gallery. this is valid document and acceptable in PSK for PCC.
4. After processing your file, hire a agent which would initiate your PCC file and help you to get PCC in 3-4 days.
5. I got my PCC in 4 days.

Does your PCC issued by PSK has your current address on it? I am also having trouble in getting all documents for me and for my wife.

I am thinking to get it from my permanent address if PCC is not bonded with any address.

Hello Seniors !

I sent 3 PCCs of different cities in India along with my application. Surat, Mumbai and Mohali.

Currently, I'v been living in Mohali since March 2010.

I'm about to get my MR. Do I have to send only Mohali PCC with MR?

Surat and Mumbai PCCs have not any validity written on them but Mohali PCC is valid for 3 months only. I'm a 22nd May applicant.

Please suggest.

Is it really required from 3 different cities ? Because as far as i know only one PCC is valid for India.
I have also stayed in Mumbai for 2.5 years from 2007 till 2010. Can you please let me know how did u get the PCC
can we get it by sitting in Delhi or do we need to go there ?
