Actually you don't have to check your Ecas status at all if you don't want.
If you have any update you'll get an email.
But like me, If you can't resist you can check it everyday 10 times lol

But we know what is happening with CAP update which is supposed to happen every Monday. Same is the case with ECAS updates.

does this mean that orignal translation is not required ,cz i have submitted scanned copy of my translation BC.

The translation is done on a separate sheet of paper and stapled to a certified copy of original document along with the affidavit. If it's your case, you are safe. The only exception is PCC which is to be submitted in original along with original translation according to IMM7000.

I've finally sent my application AGAIN to CIC and it was delivered on 5-Nov-2014 at 11:38AM signed by Mike!

Now the agonizing wait of yet another 90-100 days start :'( But keeping fingers crossed that this time my app might get through!

One thing I wanted to share (already discussed long back):
My Duties letter was not like it should be. The old employer from India just wrote basic things like testing, analysis, bug report etc. It matched NOC 2173 but wasn't descriptive at all. Just 5 lines. haha..i was worried about it.

My application wouldn't have been possible without this group!! Dedicating it to everyone!! Today is Gurunanak Jayanti (a festival in India) and feels like God's gift!! Very happy

I think its not FORCED CHARGING AUTHORITY

Its more like SOVEREIGN charging authority... actually CC channel companies (i.e. VISA & MASTER) have SAFE LIST of merchants for which beneficiary of fraudulent usage can be directly caught e.g. International test centers (ACCA, CFA etc). This list is usually used to differentiate between suspicious transactions and genuine transaction of high volume (based on my discussion with CC company on the matter 7-8 years ago, don't know if things have changed now). I think that SAFE LIST also works in case of lost card. Otherwise, FORCE CHARGING AUTHORITY wud have also worked in case of BREACH of LIMIT or BLOCKED cards (unethical practice as rightly pointed out by u).

+1 for raising the issue of ethics.

It only indicate, CIO even can charge lost card - for this may be they got some forced-charging authority. If I were in your position, I would request not to ask about the charge and paid the amount.

The main issue with Alberta is housing, not jobs.
