Hey Senior members,

As suggested yesterday, I had sent my additional documents to CIC (bachelors degree transcripts and Visa Stamp page of Passport) and it will reach by Monday 10th Nov hopefully. what should I do now in line of action. my application reached on 3rd Sept do u think its too late for these documents or I still have a chance.

I think there is a decent chance that your new documents will be added to your app!

I have sent all the PCC certificate with my original application and they were not expired on the date of application received.
Should I arrange for PCC certificate again ( FBI PCC was issued in November 2013 and was valid till November 2014!)
Application received date is July 8,2014.
Seniors please advise ?

How does after landing process work if I wish to leave Canada in 2 weeks after landing?

I would not have an address in Canada. How would I obtain PR card and Social Insurance Number and other documents?

What happens if me and my wife gets PR Visa and only i travel to Canada and get PR card. Would my spouse also need to travel along with me to activate her permanent residency? What happens if she fails to travel along with me and her PR visa expires, do I have to sponsor her fresh PR application?

Why would you want to do this ?
Let your wife come once to Canada, complete the landing formalities (within 1 year of medicals) and then go back to your home country. Later she can come back to Canada whenever she is free from her responsibilities back at home. She will need to be only for 2 years out of 5 years in Canada to continue with here PR status. that shouldn't be a difficult ask.

Is there any prescribed form for fingerprinting. For FBI PCC there is one but I could not find it for Singapore PCC. Can anybody please help on this regard.

If you live in Singapore

The Certificate of Clearance (COC) is issued by the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) of Singapore Police Force (SPF). To obtain one, applicants residing in Singapore need to appear in person at the COC Office. Applicants need to present the COC request letter from the Canadian immigration office (described above), together with a completed COC application form and all required supporting documents:

a full set of fingerprints taken by a qualified fingerprint official; fingerprints can be taken at the COC office at the time of application for the COC,
a photocopy of your current passport,
two recent passport-size photographs, and
a bank draft in Singapore dollars for the applicable fees payable to ‘Head Criminal Records CID.' [Please refer to Singapore Police Force (SPF) website for the processing fee.]

If you live outside Singapore

Applicants residing overseas should submit their applications, including all of the supporting documents listed above, by mail to:

For Non-Singapore Citizens

The CID will only process requests for COC for non-Singapore citizens who have resided in Singapore for at least 6 months. You are required to complete the COC Appeal Application Form, plus a COC Application Form that you may obtain from the SPF website (please see address above). Once you have completed the forms, provide the required supporting documents listed above, and submit in-person or by mail to the COC Office. Please note that the Certificate of Clearance (COC) will be mailed directly to the Canadian immigration office requesting the certificate.

Got another query.

I've a situation. I am using my SSC (10th) passing certificate as proof of date of birth. It has a spelling mistake. Do I need to get an affidavite to explain the situation or simple letter by me is fine?

I think you may have to send in another PCC at VO stage.

If you had sent valid PCCs at the time of initial application, then don't send new PCCs again. Wait for further instructions from VO.

If validity during submission was an issue, then fresh PCC needs to be sent.

Yes, you should definitely get another FBI PCC. CIC asks that the PCC be no more than 3 months old at the time of submission. In your case, it was 8 months old. Also, PCCs are valid for one year only and if they expire by the time your application reaches the VO, you will be asked to submit a new one by the VO. Either way, with the current processing time for FBI PCC, you should apply for a fresh one ASAP.

You can provide a hotel address to obtain SIN. It is issued on site at Service Canada office. Use a friend's address for PR card.
