Does anyone know if married and husband's name is not on passport. Would CIC make that an issue when it comes to passport request? Is it mandatory to update passport name if married?
Not an issue. I have the same situation. I have got my PCC from PSK, Bangalore (without any issues), and have also received the MR mail. Goodluck.

Re: FBI PCC

According to FBI website, You cannot use option 2 unless you are a permanent resident or US citizen.

I was looking online and it looks like that FBI certificate can be obtained through Option 2 below

The FBI offers two methods for requesting your Identity History Summary or proof that one does not exist.

Option 1: Submit your request directly to the FBI.

Option 2: Submit to an FBI-approved Channeler, which is a private business that has contracted with the FBI to receive the fingerprint submission and relevant data, collect the associated fee(s), electronically forward the fingerprint submission with the necessary information to the FBI CJIS Division for a national Identity History Summary check, and receive the electronic summary check result for dissemination to the individual. Contact each Channeler for processing times.

I called few agencies and seems like option 2 is very fast as compared to option one.

Does anyone know, if I can use option 2 and will it be valid???

Hi Guys,

Just want ask anybody here in forum with MR-PPR stage who requires Good Conduct Certificate from the UAE who residing in other country. Did you get a new Good Conduct Certificate from UAE? This is my problem now wherein Canadian Embassy Manila requires me UAE Police Certificate. I already have old Good Conduct Certificate which I got before exiting UAE on Sep2011 for Canadian Immigration purposes. I do not know if that is enough to submit to the Embassy as I am no longer residing in UAE since September2011. Any the same situation as mine? Appreciate so much if you can share it.

Regards,

Mickeyboy
I believe PCC cannot be older than 3 months before you filed your application.

Hi!!!!

Does anyone know if the Canadian PR Card expires!??! We cannot be a PR forever, right?!?!

Just out of curiosity!!!! :p

Thanks!

The PR Card expires if you dont spend 2 years out of 5 years in Canada. If you have done so, you can apply for renewal of PR card.
You can spend some more time and apply for citizenship.
To be able to apply for citizenship (as per existing rules and regulations), you need to spend 4 years out of 6 years in Canada.

You can be a PR forever, if you keep meeting the requirements and keep renewing the PR card.

Hi Deviim15,

To become a citizen Time you have lived in Canada

You must have resided in Canada for at least three years (1,095 days) in the past four years before you apply. This does not apply to children under 18.

You may be able to count time you spent in Canada before you became a permanent resident if it was during the past four years.

Use our online tool to find out if you have lived in Canada long enough to apply to become a citizen.

So I think the trend for NDVO has changed, they were earlier sending MRs first and then were updating 2nd line, now they are first updating ecas and then sending mail after a week

Option 2 is feasible only if your currently in USA, because those Channelers are located in USA.
