For those forumites who don't know much about Diwali:

Diwali also known as Deepavali and the "festival of lights", is an ancient Hindu festival celebrated in autumn every year. The festival spiritually signifies the victory of light over darkness, knowledge over ignorance, good over evil, and hope over despair. The festival preparations and rituals typically extend over a five day period, but the main festival night of Diwali coincides with the darkest, new moon night of the Hindu Lunisolar month Kartika. In the Gregorian calendar, Diwali night falls between mid-October and mid-November.

Before Diwali night, people clean, renovate and decorate their homes.On Diwali night, Hindus dress up in new clothes or their best outfit, light up diyas (lamps and candles) inside and outside their home, participate in family puja typically to Lakshmi – the goddess of wealth and prosperity. After puja (prayers), fireworks follow, then a family feast including mithai (sweets), and an exchange of gifts between family members and close friends. Diwali also marks a major shopping period in nations where it is celebrated.

Friends, any one from IndusInd bank DD??
am June24 applicant with DD - still not DD outstanding and no news from CIC?
I saw 27th June applicant DD got encashed..... getting worried...

PCC from abroad required only if the stay (6 Months criteria) is prior to application received date at CIC ?

Is it so or Applies during processing period also.? (landed in abroad after Application received date)

3rd line have been added in ECAS to "Medical results have been received.". What does this indicate? Does it mean everything is fine with medicals or they are yet to be reviewed?

I got medical request on 9th October, done my medicals on 18th October, and medical acknowledgement was received by NVDO on 22nd October.

There is nothing to worry...Every thing is fine with your Medicals. It is the method of updating the ecas of the applicant..
As when the file received they update first line that we have got ur file on so so date...Then after initial check they update 2nd line that we have start processing your filr on so so date... After this they do all the background checks. If everything find ok they issue medicals. When they received the MR they update it in our ecas so that we came to know that MR has been received...then everything is almost done ..they will req pp nd rprf..after receiving all this they will finally update 4th line in ecas DM after issuing visa

I am not an expert but I applied from within canada and I didn't mention any visa office but They didn't reject my case, I think this means its ok.

Hi Ehsaan, can i ask when did your application was received by CIO? I am really hoping everything will be okay.

Bank will have nothing to do with whether DD is encashed or not. DD is a prepaid instrument and hence no bank will reject the DD encashment request, whether it is Indusind or ICICI or any other MNC, Private or PSU bank.
CIC must not have sent the DD for encashment yet. You will need to check with CIC why they haven't encashed the DD yet. Will request you to wait for another 10-15 days though.

Experts I have an urgent query,
I got PCC Request for Saudi (As i am staying here from the past 22 years) and Indian PCC
My and my wifes passport is old type handwritten without barcode...
my approach was to first make saudi PCC so i gave the request and it ready with the old passport number, now tomm I will give my passports for renewal to the indian embassy which i will get in 3 working days (bare in mind my old passport number will be written on my new passports..)
after the passports are renewed indian embassy will give me the Indian PCC on the new passports...

Is it ok to have old PP number on the saudi PCC and new PP number on the Indian PCC.

its urgent to get some advice on the above.

Possibly, if you explain to them why you need the extension. There has been a poster on the forum who reported receiving an extension because the FBI is now taking about 12 weeks to process PCCs.

One more query: I did my MR and the doctor returned the form saying when you visit the consulate hand it over to them.

B.T.W. when do we need to visit the consulate.

also I have submitted PCC from local police station, is there any special format for this?
