I think a Visa Officer can call you for an interview anytime he wants before issuing a visa.

Also, IMO, It's a good thing. Some times VO's reject applications for lack of some documentation. I would consider myself lucky if the VO decided to give me a second chance by calling me in!

You can opt these options..
Option 1 worked for me
1)download the forms d save them on desktop or where ever you want to save...
Then try to open these forms where you have saved..forms will open

2)If doesn't work then click on adobe reader...search from adobe reader and try to open the forms...

3)If you are trying to open via google chrome then try to.open via internet explorer

Option one worked :)
Thanks :)

Here comes the Good News!!

Got MR, RPRF request just now :) :) :) :) :) :)

Application Date: 22 May
PER Date: 11 Sep

Congrats...

No news of any DD encashment after 23rd June right?

According to my paper napkin calculations, we should be seeing 24-June and 25-June DD encashments by now and 26-June by tomorrow (I'm a 26-June applicant).

BTW if you have Bank of America, you can call the number 1-800-523-7860 and provide them your sequence number (which is on the DD receipt) and find out if it has been encashed or not. I'll call them again tomorrow and provide an update if anything changes.

My husband needs to get reference letter from company that has closed. He is still in contact with owner of restaurant (person that hired him). This reference letter won't have letterhead, what is the best way to make this letter, does anybody have an example? Does it need to be notarized? Original or copy? We need letter to gain more points for experience.

thanks!!

I think it depends on the way you want it delivered. If you choose a USPS service that require someone who will sign for it in Canada, then go for courier address. if you choose USPS service that does not require a signature, then go for post address. This is my opinion and pray for applicant who are waiting for the mercy of CPC-Ottawa MR.Good luck

Congrats Patelbhai

I would advice not to send your passport from USA to Canada because it is illegal to send Indian passport out of your country of residence. Instead send them an email stating that as you are in USA, and request them if they can do stamping procedure at NVYO or some other VO in states instead. Also mention in email why are you requesting them to change VO for stamping.

Diplomatru ,
One letter 'yes' or 'no' would also do the same.

I know some ppl 'appear' to be lazy and want others to answer questions as if others are working for them.
But believe me, not everyone writes with that intention.

I am more inclined to give benefit of doubt in such cases, wat say Diplomatru?
By the way, I like your blogs a lot about life in canada...keep rolling them and thanks for your efforts :)
...and hopefully you are making a diary out of it as well for future benefit of larger audience...

I have been reading this thread for a few months now, and most of the questions here that fit in one line, i.e. "worried!where's my per/terrified!what's aor" pop up several times a day and are extremely irritating because there's FAQ and SS to deal with them. Long-timers here go online to solve complex questions when an applicant is in doubt and to discover patterns in the work of the immigration system. It's quiet addictive really. Besides, you say, that an acknowledgement would do the same trick. Immagine, that somebody updates the SS without posting in the thread, which happens now and then. How are we supposed to give an answer to the question of the latest CIC communication with confidence in that case? I take it that forwarding the person to the latest statistics is the best option to go. If anyone is willing to do it on behalf of a newbie member and PM him with his findings, by all means. But I will always put emphasis on the SS.

Thank you for reading the blog. I have some new entries in mind.

Sorry but this sounds like wrong information. We live in US and our friend last year went to Canada (for landing) to get his PR card. Do you mean to say that Indians Living in USA can NOT send their indian PP to Canadian Consulate via Fedex or USPS? My office is New Delhi,VO: so what are my options in that case?

Guys!

In reply to the email sent to CIC on 29-Aug-2014, regarding the request for additional documents inclusion, just a while back received the reply from CIC:

Dear Sir:

Please be advised that our office can make no guarantee that the original ECA submitted separate from the application will be matched to the application prior to the assessment or return of your application.

Thank you.

Dear Ashif and fellow members,

As per your advice, I've already sent my original ECA report to CIC with the cover letter, and the same has been delivered on 28/Aug. Also I've emailed them as mentioned by you.

In the mean time I've prepared another complete set of application. I was thinking to apply again a fresh, in case god forbid if something goes wrong with my first set of application, or it could't able to get through because of missing original ECA, at least I will be in the game with the second set of complete application.

I need your valuable advice and opinion on this, and I'm very grateful to you, for your guidance.

Regards.
