I think the reason Century suggested that is for people to make an inquiry to know if they are rejected (worse cast scenario) as sometimes it takes 6 months for the application to return and 6 months is a very long time to wait and then receive bad news. If you get PER, then you will know at around the same time, so no harms done.

I actually appreciated this suggestion by Century a lot and gave him +1 for it

My credit card finally got charged last night. For those who used old application form, just let you know, my application was received on 26 Jun and I am also using the old generic form. Good luck everyone and hope I can receive PER soon!!

Charge date: 14 Oct
Code: 0911
Remark: I am using old generic form that was updated on 17 June!~ I guess they should have give some allowance to June application.

Congrats for the charge. You are on your way to get PER, almost 90%. Rejection after charge is rare.

And, your documents will be thoroughly checked after the charge state. They are only scanned for complying with CIC checklist. Points calculation and veracity of the documents will be checked at this stage. Later on, the VO will do an even more stringent check.

I got a response from them yesterday, I emailed them August 27 regarding any status update. Their exact response:

"Your file is with our office and is undergoing initial processing. You will be contacted further in due course."

I'm a 2174 - June 20th applicant.

My Fee : 550 CAD by credit card
My Spouse Fee: 550 CAD
My Son Fee: 150 CAD
So My Spouse+ My son fee = 700 CAD via DD.

Anybody who can confirm that i can pay that by demand draft or i have to pay full fee means 550 CAD +700 CAD - 1250 CAD via DD

bro, i've done the same, 700 DD(550+150) & 550 CC..my CC got charged on 7th oct.but as the forumities are more in favour of DD try it with it if possibly (ensure it's valadity for 6 months)...also my request you read the new document checklist and fee form thoroughly for any new changes....best of luck...

Hi All, I still think that CAP has not reached for 2174... Although CIC has mentioned 1,000 I guess it is by mistake.. We have seen some mistakes in updating the counts.. As far as I remember for FSW 2013 after reaching the CAP they clearly mention "CAP REACHED" not 1000... So, lets wait for next update...and we may see some more miracles..
