Also, I got another number starts with E . What is that number. ( My previous application was terminated due to 2008 backlog in 2012 after doing medical and paying visa fee).

How long will take for next step from CIC ?

Need a bit of help , My application was received on 10 june 2014 , and my CC charge was successful , I haven't received any PER emails . But i can see couple of people on this blog got PER emails whos application was reached on 11 JUNE . IS this something to worry about?? , and Assuming if my file was rejected does CIC refund the money back to Credit card ?

I'd even doubt that! I think even CIO isn't able to handle the workload and it's making silly errors, such as returning file for expired IELTS results even when file reached CIO before the expiry of the IELTS TRF!

We have been following the forum for a while and have greatly learned a lot from the experiences of members. Let me give you all a snapshot of our journey so far.
Date of Receipt of Application : 16th June, 2014 ( as per Blue Dart - DHL)
Place from where we applied : Mumbai, India
Category : 2171 (edited,)
Mode of Payment : DD (issued by ICICI Bank, Mumbai ) with supposedly a validity of 6 months.

It appears from the post that 16th June, 2014 applications have been charged. Since this is our first time, we do not have a UCI number.

Can anyone give inputs on how to find the status of the DD ?? From previous posts, it seems like Local BAnks in India do not seem to get a hang of the dd encashment. Is an Email (PER) from cic the only way to know the status for first time applicant who have applied with DD?

I received mail for Medical today from LVO but no mention of PCC & RPRF.

LVO guys please suggest, is it normal and if LVO send separate mail for PCC & RPRF?

Yes best thing is to wait for PER and if you can't stay calm then you can visit your bank to know status of your DD. If you're lucky enough your bank will inform you that your DD is encased or else wait for PER. !

I personally know someone who applied in 2010 and got rejected after PER due to job duties mismatch.

Can you please confirm if he rejected only after being charged or after receiving PER?

Coz, If it is only after begin charged, then it is a common thing. It happened with some other people also.

But rejecting in this ground after issuing PER would be really scary for all.
