Now they are taking 12+ weeks and additional time for mailing.

Consider 2-3 weeks for mailing as it will come by normal post

Here is the link for getting PCC from FBI USA
http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/security/police-cert/north-america/united-states.asp

Only thing is that it takes anywhere between 8-10 weeks to receive PCC. So plan to send it as soon as possible. Just take fingerprinting & fill the application form as available on this website http://www.fbi.gov/about-us/cjis/identity-history-summary-checks with either USD $18.00 Check or credit card (will have to fill credit card application as well if using crredit card)..

Goood luck

I'll share post-landing experience of a friend from IT background, who got PR (through Provincial Nominee program) :

He is married but decided to go there alone first. He took a three month sabbatical from his company in India (just to be safe) which is enough time to get PR card there. He then went to Canada and stayed with his sister's family. He did job search by applying directly and through a consultant. He got a job in 3 weeks time (yes, just 3 weeks) after landing, and has now tendered his resignation at his company in India. His wife would also be joining him next month.

I know two other cases of IT professionals, who went to Canada with families and got jobs within 2-3 months time. Jobs which fit their profile.

The advice I receive from all the people I know who have moved to Canada in the last 5-7 years is that you have to wait for the right job, and should not go into survival mode immediately. If at all, you may do part time work in evenings so that you have remaining time in the day to apply for jobs and appear for interviews.

I hope I also have a good experience in Canada and am able to provide for my family a life at least as good as I am providing for them here in India. And I wish the same for everybody here.

Let's continue to stay in touch even after we land. Peace.

3) any other advice.. if i left something which is to be done for assessment

Hi there,

1. WES is pretty good. Guess that most of us here are opting for WES. I got my stuff evaluated in 15 days.

2. You get the WES reference number once you register with WES and pay them the evaluation and postal fees. and Yes. That form is actually called "Academic records request" and it has to be filled up by your university and enclosed with the transcripts which they will sen to WES

All the best

Suggest u to send another mail with a different subject and the body identifying ur application as mentioned in the auto-reply. I have seen earlier that replies over the same mail do not get answered by CIC. Good Luck!

Thanks for the reply, I'd included my name, DOB and Passport no. in the original mail. Do not have a UCI as this is my first time...

hi seniors,

application received : 2nd june
PER received : 25th sept

Can you tell me What is validity of PCC in India?

Because i am confused about my PCC which i received on 24th april .So it is nearly 6 months now, do i need to get fresh PCC again for further processing (MR/PCC request mail).

COC/PCC Singapore

Hi Century & all members,

Just to inform I have just collected my COC/PCC from Singapore. They said its valid for 1 year. But onething which makes me confuse, in COC they mentioned the date of screening of records from starting of stay at Singapore to application date only. So I am confused how VO will examine it, because I am still awaiting my PCC/MR request. If suppose, I am getting PCC/MR request by end of October 2014, do I need to re verify the stay of 1 month or still fine with above period of stay mentioned in certificate!

Any comments on it..

Thank you.
Nair ;)

Hi Fella just go through WES sevice, login to WES website, apply for evaluation, pay your fee and you will get reference number.
Make sure you post the transcripit in university envelope and sealed it properly bcoz i face this problem.
And also apply for extra copy as well of WES report

It's good that it's not deceptive, but I fear that you mean it is not descriptive. If so, that is a big issue. If CIC isn't convinced that you worked in that NOC for at least a year the application will be returned. The way CIC becomes convinced is the description of your duties in the letter. This is absolutely crucial to the application.

You don't have to have funds for any particular length of time, provided the local VO is convinced that the funds are really yours, and are liquid and unencumbered, you will be fine.

Thanks for the infor... I worked in the uk so the letter only mentions my job title, from whn I hv been wrking , my salary n the number of hours... What else should be added pls help me and advice me...

Thanks....

As far as i know we don't need to apply for additional copies, for FSWP package, automatically the WES disburses us two copies of same evaluation.
