I have three queries:
1. Under FSW Category 1.5 years experience treated as 1year or 2years ?
2. I have 4 years university Bachelors in Electrical. How many points am i going to get?
3. Which is the most cheap and credible ECA authority in all respects ?

Please help

See my post here. Go with WES. ICAS will take forever.

ICAS vs WES

Hey everybody, I started preparing my documents a few months back, before I knew this forum. So I wasn't aware that WES was the de-facto choice to getting an ECA.

So since I've done a double degree program (half of my studies were done in one university, and half of my studies in another one), which isn't standard, and I wanted to be sure my ECA would come out correctly, I decided to get my ECA at both WES and ICAS at the same time.

Here is a quick comparison of both processes:

August 16th: Ordered an ECA from WES. I have completed an online form in which I chose both my universities (that were correctly listed), and they sent me the document list. My ECA was already estimated.

August 17th: Ordered an ECA from ICAS. I have completed an online form, but manually. There were no universities listed to choose. They sent me the document list, but no ECA estimation.

September 7th: Both WES and ICAS received my part of the documents and the documents of one of my universities.

September 9th: WES confirmed that the documents sent were accepted and that there were missing only the documents from the other university.

September 23rd: Both WES and ICAS received the documents from the other university.

September 25th: WES confirmed that the documents sent from the other university were correct and that my evaluation would begin.

September 29th: WES finished their evaluation and sent me my ECA. The evaluation was as it should be, mentioning both schools and that I performed a joint program.

October 3rd: ICAS sent me an e-mail notifying they received the documentation from my FIRST University, but they had questions on whether or not they were original (they were sent on a sealed, signed envelope...), so they will contact them to be sure. No word from the analysis of the documentation of the second university yet...

Overall, I'm very impressed with WES. They were very fast and accurate.

With ICAS, on the other hand, I'm really unimpressed. I'll keep you guys updated as the process evolves, but it looks to me it is going to take several months yet for it to be completed.

profession: software Programmer & Developer

Specialization: Software programming

Dear Century,

Thank you very much for your quick and expert opinion.

But my confusion is that , in the same form I have received from LVO there is one question:

Q: What is your Occupation?

and after few questions down to the page in the form the question is :

Q: What is your profession and specialization (if any)?

Now, if I will write "software Programmer & Developer" as profession and "Software programming" as "Specialization", then what I will write in Occupation?

the form and the questions in the form are very tricky and confusing :'( :'( :'(

please help and advise more.

Thank you

I got email from London VO

This refers to your application for permanent residence in Canada.

The following should be emailed to this office within the next 15 days:

-updated Schedule A forms for you and your spouse **questions 8 and 12 of the Schedule A form must be completed from age 18 to the current date and must not show any gaps in the dates. We are aware that the wording of these questions asks for details for the last 10 years, however, this office requires these questions to be completed from age 18. These forms may be downloaded from our website www.cic.gc.ca**

Important: please do NOT include your numerous periods of short term travel in either questions 8 or 12.

I have travelled from 2005-2011 in more then 9 countries and each trip is less then 1 month, so I shouldn't write details of my travel

Congrats :) :)

Please share if anyone got PER without Birth certificate / High School marksheet/Matriculation certificate and by only sending a letter from Indian Consulate 'as per passport entry Mr xxx born on xxx date.....' I sent my application with Indian consulate letter only & heard CIC returned some applications because of unavailability of birth certificate. I am trying to get BC translated & I'll send updated documents to CIC next week probably but not sure if CIC will be able to attach it with my original application. Somewhere I read, it's just a probability. I've applied in 2171 so if CIC returns my application, I won't be able to submit again because CAP will be reached by then.
Please share your views. Thanks a lot.

YOU SHOULD INCLUDE ALL YOUR TRAVEL IN supplementary information your travels -IMM5562E.
Here we are referring to SCHEDULE A, BACKGROUND / Declaration. LVO is keen on ALL details since age 18....and not just the last 10 years. All the best!
