sorry, dopedupguy, given the backlog, you are correct. Suggestion: can you reapply under another NOC/what is your job experience exactly?

I wasn't aware I could apply under more than one category. I have 6+ years as a Financial Analyst but only (most recent) 1+ years as a Manager (NOC 0111, currently at 130). (MBA - Finance major - from the US as well as the CFA charter). This will bring my total points down from 73-74 to 68-69. Also the matter of producing a reference letter from current employer that would be in conflict with the one submitted with the 1112 application, if any one cross checks....

Thank you @dsmalhan. Gonna ask for my degree translated version to the notary interpreter and include the revised Document checklist in the same envelope.

Please let me know if you advise any different approach.

Cheers.

Anyone has an idea about BOWP (Bridging Open Work Permit), in order to extend stay in Canada?

When is a candidate eligible to apply for BOWP?

To be eligible for a bridging open WP, the following parameters must be met:

The foreign national is currently in Canada;
They have valid status on a WP that is due to expire within 4 months;
They have received a positive eligibility decision on their PR application under one of the Economic Class programs above; and
They have made application for an open WP.

For more details refer, the web link in CIC website:

Guys,

Based upon the recent trend in CAP update (30-Sep-2014), I've performed the Swing Analysis for NOC 2171, 2173 and 2174

The trend is almost similar to last week's update.

2171 has 36 applications,
2173 has 49 applications,
and 2174 has 60 applications

There is visible decline in pace for 2171, 2173, 2174, by 3.70%, 1.79%, and 0.09% receptively, as compared to last week's update.

Cheers!

+1 for your analysis... Keep it up :)

You fell in the same trap many people here fall in. You assumed that what CIC receives in a week will always be processed in a week, and that the lag is constant (90 days). This is an invalid model. We are actually in front of a simple queuing system with a variable inflow rate and an almost constant outflow rate (approximately 500 apps a week). Inflow was larger than 500 per week during May, and this caused a backlog to form, and inflow is less than 500 app per week in July, and may be June as well, which will cause the backlog to diminish. Got it?

Got it, i will try to analize the intake behavior for a while and post if i come up with something
A second mistake is assuming that the outflow will always have the same ratios of NOC's every week, so mistakenly assuming that there is an average number of processed apps per NOC per week. Such an average does not have a meaningful significance in reality, because the apps per NOC follow a dynamic pattern over time. For example, IT people can do some maneuvering to avoid applying in 2174 and apply in 2172 instead, which means that 2172 rate should witness an increase on the expense of 2174.
I will estimate NOC outcomes based on percentages of the overall intake then, which could be a bit closer to reality

When you get PER email or your respective bank obliges and provides you the status of your draft 8) Good Luck!! :)

Additional Family Information form?

it has to be filled by principal applicant and spouse? So first it's the Spouse/Children(If Any)/Mother/Father/Brother/Sister of principal applicant then on the second form it's the Spouse/Children(If Any)/Mother/Father/Brother/Sister of the spouse? Please guide. Thanks

Yes.
So first application, Applicant Name is Principal Applicant and this persons Spouse/Children(If Any)/Mother/Father/Brother/Sister and signed by this person
second application, applicant name is Spouse and this persons Spouse/Children(If Any)/Mother/Father/Brother/Sister and signed by this person.

Congrats on being a CFA charterholder :D I am trying to pass Level II so I admire anyone who has finished the arduous journey.

Regarding the points, as you probably know, you only need 67. It's not as if having 74 points will make them "more likely" to approve you versus 69-they don't compare you against other applicants. If your docs are in order, you fit the category, and you have 67 points at least, you're in.

Regarding the reference letter, a Senior on here will have to comment on that.

Do you have any licenses, e.g. Series 7? Might be able to worm into 1113...again, the reference letter might be an issue.

Seniors kindly advise on birth certificate:

1) I have an online generated copy of my birth cert from Corporation of Chennai
2) My name is not mentioned on the birth certificate
3) My father's name is in initials in my birth certificate but in full in my passport (like A.B. XYZ in my birth cert but Arun Barun XYZ in my passport)
4) Only first name of my mother is mentioned in my birth certificate but first and last name mentioned in my passport
5) My 10th certificate has my birthdate and name but not either of my parents
6) My father is deceased and it will be hard to get an affidavit made from my mother from my home country.
7) I have PAN card with my fathers name on it.

Will affidavit from me alongwith above supporting documents suffice?
