Good news from my end ............ :

I received by medical + PCC + RPR fee request today morning ,

I am 9th May applicant , PER received on 18th Aug 14. Moreover, my 2nd ECAS status not updated yet :'( :'( :'(. Will update SS shortly.

only concern is , just 3 days back we re-issued my wife passport with spouse name and my current address. and I received "IMM1017 form" with her old name, as I could not get time to raise case specify enquiry.

Now How should I proceed for medical ? , should I submit new passport pages to NDVO via case specify enquiry and on receipt of New IMM1017 form, than go for her medical.

or I should move directly to medical and send update passport information to NDVO with PCC+medical itself in same courier.

Kindly Help me out ...........I need your expert advice .............

Answering your questions below in-line

1) I came to know that in Jan the Canadian Immigration intake System is going to change from the CIC website. I have to start application process. Is it still a good time or am i late? I have to get the educational assessment done too!

You are late but you might not be "Very Late"..Yes the current Federal Skilled Worker (FSW) is going to evolve into "Express Entry System" from 1st Jan 2015. That said, the current FSW 2014 program would still continue to process applications (and would remain active) till 30th April 2015. So, if you really rush up your Educational evaluation through WES (World Education Services) using their FSW assessment package and get your IELTS done quick too, you still might have a fighting chance. I know people who are still applying and still plan to apply

2) Is it a good idea to go through a consultant at this stage?

It is up to you to decide. In my personal opinion, consultants do not help much..they just charge lots of money to provide information which is easily available on this forum itself...At the end of it, it is you who has to get her Educational Evaluation done, IELTS done, provide all the info to be filled in the forms...Most of the senior members here agree that no one can put a better application for you than your own self

3) My husband has done his Bachelor's in Electronics and Communication. He has spent his 9 yrs of work experience in Telecom, Mobile and Lighting Industry writing Software. I myself have completed 11yrs of exp in Software Engineering with an M.S also in Software Engineering. Can we apply in my husband's name ?

There are 4 or 5 different Job Categories (each identified by a unique number and is called a NOC) under which you or your husband can apply. That said, the software related NOCs are considered hot and they fill up fast. Some such NOCs you can see and explore are 2171 - IT Consultant, 2173 - Software Engineers and designers , 2174- Programmers , 2175- Web designers , 2172 - Database admins (I have reproduced the names from the top of my head, might be wrong..but the NOC numbers are correct..2171, 2172, 2173, 2174, 2175
Again, you still might make it under categories such as 2171- IT Consultant or even the Database Admin category...Coz 2173 and 2174 are almost capped out already..But obviously, you need to see if your job duties match those which are listed under these categories and apply under the best matching category.

Yeah our profiles mostly match 2173 and 2174 categories having caps 343 and 718 respectively as of today. Do you think it would still be worth applying for ?
Second, we have university transcripts obtained in 2007 for a different purpose. Can we use that now for completing the ECA required for FSW ?

Finally I have got the mail for PCC and MR . It also asks to pay RPRF!! I am not sure what it is. I am based in India; can anyone let me know how to obtain a PCC please?


Right of Permanent Resident Fee (Principal Applicant, Spouse/ Partner) 490 26,700 - Is this for all members ( We are three including a 1 yea old baby or per member each?)

and the address to which I need to send both the PCC and MR is that in Canada or the address mentioned in form which is new delhi?


Please advise.

RPRF : Right of Permanent Residence Fee; You have to pay CAD 480 should be 490 each for you and your spouse. Total CAD 980

PCC can be obtained from Passport office or your local SP office.

These have to be sent to New Delhi VO.

And next day I got my visa stamped.






But suddenly I woke up....it was a dream.. :'( :'( :'(

Is the MR sent from the local VO or from Sydney ?. I see a lot of difference between MR dates for the same VO, as an example applicant received PER in mid August and mid September and only days difference in receiving MR !

I have been told by the consultants that they (NIO Sydney) are not bothered about the designation level as long as the job duties match with the most of the duties given under the category.
Could you please advise further?

Yes, as long as your job duties match with NOC you should be fine. But aren't job duties reflective of the level in your occupation you're at? In short, use the NOC which actually matches best with your current job and make sure those job duties are outlined well enough on your employment ref letter

I have one vague question...
I have hired one consultant for Canada PR 2014.
He is going to fill all the required forms on my behalf. Tomorrow he is going to send me all forms to check them myself.
Can u pls let me know about some common error in filling up forms so that I can check those part again and again.
