Hi,

Just wanted to confirm the validaity of PCC from seniors folks on the forum.

I do read on the CIC website it says 'Police certificates are generally valid for 12 months from the date they are issued'...... but still wanted to make sure I understand it correctly.

Wanted to know how long does a PCC stand good? Say if a person applied in Jan2014-> Gets PCC issued around March2014-> Gets PER around April204-> Gets request from CIC for PCC around May2014.
Can he use the PCC that he got issued in March2014?? Will that be valid??

CAP are usually updated on Tuesdays.

Dears- do we stable each application or do we just use paper clips ? I'm asking as i saw a note on the checklist to leave all docs unbound so i wonder what is exactly meant by that ..

If your PCC is valid by the time your application reached and processed at CIO , you are good. However, your Local Visa Office may request for new PCC when they are processing your application.

In my case, my PCC has already expired when my application reached CIO, but I still got PER. However, right now I'm anticipating that my Local VO may be asking for New PCC.

Hope this helps.

Seniors, I badly need your opinion again with my situation. I really regret for blindly trusting my consultant in filling out my forms. I actually pre-signed them before completion and submission. I just found out upon reviewing the scanned copies of the forms. I have a feeling that she just jeopardized my application status with the following two silly mistakes:

1. Generic Form - Current country of residence.
My starting date of my current residency "from" should have been 2011-06-04 but she erroneously typed 2011-05-04

2. Schedule A - Background Decl - Personal History
She forgot to write my history from 2009/09 to 2011/05 which also covers my previous employment. Good thing is I am not claiming points for the experience I had with that company.

With these errors, do you think I still have chance of getting PER? Is CIC strict in scrutinizing this area? Or CIC will just leave this portion for further investigation by the respective VO?

Thanks in advance guys...

Nobody can say for sure but not filling in the background declaration form properly is a little scary. Your consultant should give you a full refund.

Validity of PCC is 3 months.. Anyway it's not mandatory to provide it in the initial application.

Hello guys,

What happened to all 9th June DD's??? Not a single DD got en cashed so far by CIC...... :( :( What might be the reason.... Have they send the DD's to respective banks to get them en cashed and they r waiting for that......... I dont know how it works when it comes to DD.. :(

Any Inputs......

Now it's 12 weeks :-( just got off the call with fbi customer service representative

I have been asked to submit latest PCC within 60 days but looking at timeline now it seems it may take more than 90 days to receive the report without counting any mailing time. How do I report to Canadian Consulate for this delay? Will they accept my request to send PCC after 60 days window? ??? ??? :'( :'(

Validity is depending on the Country you are in, it is usually 12 months. I do agree that it is not mandatory but I would recommend to include it in the application, this could help improve processing lead time. For example, in Manila Visa Office, most of the applicants that have included PCC in their application proceeded directly to MR and skipped the PCC request.

Let them know of this Delay, include reference to fbi site so they can check by themself that such a delay does exists indeed. Rest is upto visa officer. There is nothing more we can do in such a situation. it is clearly mentioned and recommended by cic that we should hv sent PCC with our initial app itself.
Cannot say with guarantee but some people on this forum itself mentioned that they are positively accommodating to such requests.

PCC IS VALID FOR 1 YEAR FROM THE DATE IT HAS ISSUED NOT 3 MONTHS
