Does the VO always ask bank statements from everyone who has submitted application with only balance certificate and not added bank statements as Proof of funds. There was a question imposed by a a forumite earlier about lack of funds when asked by London VO?

Thanks for your reply.

Not always but nobody should be surprised when they do ask.

Got this mail from FBI

Thank you for your inquiry,

The current processing time for an FBI Background Check is taking 8 to 10 weeks to complete from the date the request was received. It does take between 3 to 4 weeks for a request to clear our security process before we are able to see the request in our system. At this time, it is too early to see the request(s). If you submitted your request by courier (Fed Ex, UPS, or USPS), please view their website to verify delivery. Please check back on the status in a couple weeks.

Unfortunately, no requests can be expedited at this time due to the amount of work. Please be sure to supply your full name and address when requesting a status update. Thank you!

FSW-Sydney-Search-Enquiry @ cic.gc.ca

I emailed cio-sydney-search-enquiry@cic.gc.ca on August 22nd, regarding my status. They took exactly 6 weeks to get back to me.

But by then they had already sent me my PER in the meantime ;D.

Being that they have more agents now/are processing applications faster, perhaps the 6 week turnaround on the emails will improve as well.

Nova Scotia has Sunday all year round... :)

CanOI,

I have application package ready to ship & filled forms, docs to support my claim for NOC 2132. I noticed that similar NOC 2232 is also available to me as some of the duties matches.
if you were me, what would you do . send application right away & try luck if I am in (at risk of courier charges & in future 2232 is an option as it is COLD NOC but at risk if Jan'15 express entry may close fsw2014 intake)? OR change the package to suite with 2232 by taking 1 more week & send for this NOC.( 5 yrs of experience are towards NOC 2132 so at the risk of loosing points if CIC doesnt award me points for that evenif they are skill level A).

By the way did you guys know that Canada is 2nd largest country in the world after Russia, just ahead of USA.

Even then the land area of Canada is lesser than that of USA due to water bodies occupying a considerable area of Canada. Water bodies (predominantly fresh water lakes) occupy around 9-10% of the total area of Canada.

BTW anyone wanna work in Nunavut ? :)

is the pay more there ? ;D

Oh please, dont scare everybody, we are hoping to RETURN to Calgary. Lived there almost 9 years and we miss it so much!!!!!!
If you look at www.mls.ca
You get a house for under 500.000 Dollar. Doesnt have to be the best areas for the start
The weather in Calgary is actually nice. Cold yes, but dry. And sunny most of the year. If you dress warm you are fine. The city is prepaired for that. Never a problem for us
I am just saying, different people different experiences

Ma'am, your previous experience in Canada is what's keeping people like us hopeful :)! You don't need to worry about such posts, the person who shared this has clearly mentioned things are tougher for 'Temp workers' or those who don't have Canadian Citizenship or PR.

My 2 cents/paise: You correctly said "different people, different experiences". It depends how much homework one does before landing in CA as immigrating to a different land is not to be taken lightly. You need to have certain consequence management plans in action to undertake when necessary in order to survive the initial period (it could be few months for some to few years for others). Doing some research beforehand about your qualification status in Canada would do wonders for your preparedness. This is what I gather from friends already settled over there. Again, there is no such thing as a free lunch and certainly not from people who are interacting with you for the first time.

This forum is again proving it's worth where such information can be shared by other members, and new hopefuls deriving benefit from it.
