I am 8May applicant. Everything went smoothly till I get my PER on 12Aug. After this, there is no progress. My VO is Ottawa.
I can see that many candidates that submitted the application after 8May are also getting MR request.

The only thing that can console me is the fact that I had already provided PCC (for me and my spouse) with the application bundle and my spouse had undergone medical for his work permit after I applied FSW.
So I am thinking that even though I have not reported that my spouse had undergone medical, the CPC ottawa would pull it out with my spouse's passport info. Please note that I had already submitted my medical results with the application itself in May.

Appreciate if somebody can provide some insight that what could be going on with my application. My ECAS status is still showing "submitted application on 8May".
Could it be the case that I am heading for rejection?

Thanks in advance.

You can't compare application dates between different VOs. It's very strange because Ottawa seemed so fast at first but has slowed down, and people after about May 7 are now waiting a while. The same is true for my VO, Hong Kong. A very few lucky early applicants are almost all the way home but since then everyone is waiting. Only NDVO and Manila seem to be working quickly.

Thanks Future_canadian for the reply. I am comparing the application processing dates of CPC Ottawa. There are people that submitted the application after 8May and they are getting medical requests from CPC Ottawa. This is what making me worried.

Hello All,

This query comes from a friend who is married and is about to file his application.

In the check-list it mentions that you need to provide an evidence that you are staying with your spouse for continuous 12 months. What all documents can be provided in this case given that they do not have any joint bank account till date & they stay with their parents so utility bills do not have their names joint.

Even the passports do not mention each other as spouse

Having said this, they have a marriage certificate to prove that they are married.

In this case, what additional documents will be provided to prove this point?

Best regards,

there should be name on the passport of spouse .........

I got bank certificate , and they mentioned i have 8 lacs in my account on the certificate with basic details .

Now my question is , i have just put , $14333 in settlement fund , and didnt mention at all which exchange rate i haf used ? could it be the problem ? do i need to specify somewhere about the exchange rates as well ?

According to some expert money should not be less than $14333 at the time of review of my application , is it true ?? then i believe i am gone :( , because the slight hike in CAD dollar could kill me :( >:( >:( >:( >:(

I think you are confusing marriage with common-law marriage (domestic partnership).

If your friend is married and has a marriage certificate, he does not need to prove 12 months of residence with his wife and does not need to include the form called "statutory declaration of common-law union." That form and proof of cohabitation are only for people who are wishing for CIC to recognize a relationship that is not legally recognized in their country of origin (such as a gay marriage in countries that do not allow gay marriage, or a domestic partnership between an unmarried man and woman in countries that do not have a concept like common-law marriage).

Oh okay, thankyou Future_Canadian for this info.

Point is quite clear now, thanks again

Cheers!

Dear you need to wait for 90-100 days to get any communication from cio.

Please update ss if you haven't yet. Link for updating ss is in my signatures.

Thankyou Pankaj for this, I also read in another post somewhere that the name on passport is also not mandatory. it is something which is good to have but it does not stop you from applying under FSW

anyhow, thanks for clarifying the point :)

Cheers!

hi future Canadian,

my case looks similar, but it is for my father, my father names spelling in current Passport is Prabohd, instead of Prabodh.

I have sent an affidavit stating my BC, 1oth Mrksheet, old passport that my father name is Prabodh not Prabohd. I sent my application on 18 aug, 2132 NOC,

will it affect my application.
Meanwhile I m planning to apply for new Passport for correction of father name spelling.

Pls reply, Thanks in adv

it will not affect as affidavit is produced.
