Can you advise if this application will fall under the 2171 cap

Hello All,

This might be a repeated question but just wanted to make sure I understand the answer correctly.
A friend of mine has applied for PR, he didn’t get PER yet neither the bank confirmed his DD charged.... but he is able to see the status in ECAS(it says In Progress)


All I wanted to confirm is:
1. how likely is it that he might receive a NER even after getting status in ECAS?
I remember Jango or someone else had the same case, where they got the status in ECAS and then suddenly their status disappeared....... Not sure what happened to his case after that.

2. If everything goes well, what would be the next steps...... CIC might ask for PCC, Proof of funds, what else????

A couple of interesting things happened two weeks back:
1. CIC did 700 app processing in a week..
2. A couple of application from 12 and 13 June were notified for rejection

Here's how I put it in context. 700 apps were tested for completeness 2 weeks back and that covered the period of June first two weeks at that time. that is when the rejected apps were identified as well. Plus the huge flow of cc charge that we are seeing this week is for those apps. CC charge this week has spread across 4th June to 13th June.

What do you guys feel?

Hello All:

Please advise.

I have done 2 FBI PCCs until now.

The First one was done for 2013 application, but my application was returned due to Cap. I applied second time with the FBI PCC which was more than 3 month old. Therefore I got another new PCC in July for the new 2014 application, which will technically expire on October 10th.

So my question is:

1.) Shall I send my pcc to NDVO before it expires?
2.) Or shall I ask them for it during MR phase? In that case I have to get another new PCC since the one I have will be more than 3 months old.

Also, does speeding traffic tickets has effect on PCC? My both PCC doesn't show them; also I did independent background checks multiples times, my speeding ticket does shows up in few background checks.

May be the paper quality of FBI PCC is such that it is hard to make duplicate copy, may be there is some other security measurement inbuilt there - I don't know :-[ :-[.

I was referring to document checklist where original PCC copy required.
