PP, I have been the most optimistic of readers on this thread and I'm more than sure that I have enthused positivity in quite a lot of people with my posts ..... but looks like my predictions and optimism will go for a toss if CIC doesnt pick up pace .... CIC once done with mid june(which seems far far away) should be able to cake walk it .... but May just doesnt seem to end......!!! THis is the longest May of my life .... lol !!

Agree with you. The applications for May are very high. May be as much as 60% of the apps received so far.

My application package reached to Ontario on 5th Sep. and after that the status was showing "Forwarded for delivery" in the DHL website. After the weekend, yesterday they have updated the status to "Arrived at Sort Facility NOVA SCOTIA AREA - CANADA". That means after 5 working days it has reached to NS. How long it will take to deliver to CIC, Sydney (NS)? Anyone have idea? I'm so worried :'( :'( :'(

I just talked to some icici branch manager and he said they destroyed all Canadian dds just yesterday for some audit purpose it seems..don't know what the hell that means
But I talked to Thomas cook also..he said he can give in 15 mins..
Will check with hdfc one last time and then in worst case will take with Thomas cook tomorrow

The best way is to approach the bank where you hold your account. If you have an icici bank account, find out which branch actually issues foreign currency DDs (mostly SR Nagar branch will do this). Please carry a copy of your passport and submit the document to them, they will issue the DD in one day.

I have a privilege bank account with them and my relationship manager dropped it to my house . Check if you also have a relationship manager.

But, if you are having a govt sector bank account, i will pray for you. Perhaps you can look at foreign exchange vendors who are authorized to issue DDs.

I completely agree. 22nd MAY was a big hurdle and now the next one is 15th June....... post that the number of applications average about 15/day ... asuming SS shows only 30% data of the universal set ... it means total applications received by CIC per day after 15th june would be about 50/day.. and CIC is processing 100 apps/day right now ... means we should go thru 2 CC Charge and PER dates/workingday of CIC..... hence after that it should be pretty speedy .... !!

they will also notify who has received your packet at what time...keeping checking the DHL status.

Do you have an account with ICICI? If yes, then ask the manager to write on a paper and give it to you that he can't provide CAD DD. If you dont have an account, it is a different story. Some banks dont do it. Some will ask for lot of documentation like CA certificate, etc, etc. Try indusindbank. I know some one in kotak, if they are happy to help, will ask them to call you. Please ping me your mobile number on IM.

Thomas cook will charge you a bomb. I would say, try what i suggested, if it doesnt work, then go for Thomas Cook.

Agree, and maybe that happen every 15 days as a result of IELTS results being obtained, files completed and sent
