Sent on april and possibly received on May.

I thought CIC started accepting applicants from May 1st, so if you sent it on 29th April, it would be counted according to 2013 quota/processing. Most of this thread is regarding 2014 cases.

Hello everybody,

Can someone please explain to me what this requirement for my study degrees means? I am asking this because one of those words in the below statements means totally different than what maybe Canadians have a meaning for.

One of the mandatory documents I have to submit is a credential evaluation of my study document and the organization I have chosen to send my document to is World Education Services.
On the site it is writting as follows "Please have all academic documents verified by apostille through the National Centre for Recognition and Equivalence of Diplomas (CNRED)." , however in romanian the word "apostille" refers to the certification provided under the Hague Convention of 1961. Canada is not a member of this convention, therefore, what kind of "apostille"/visa is required to prove the authenticity of my degree?

Thanks.

Galusca1981,
While I cannot help you, you seem to have got that sentence from the WES website: https://www.wes.org/apply/requiredpop.asp?ctry=130 not the CIC, so I think most people here may not be able to help you. I think it would be better to contact WES with your question, because most of us are not from Romania.

In my humble opinion, I think the WES is referring to the certification provided under the Hague Convention. While Canada is not a member, WES values that certification. For the Canadian immigration process, whatever the WES says, they accept. So I say, go ahead and get the apostille by the CNRED.

My 1st application was received on may 9th, by Mike.

I've got my application back to me, at my house, before the answer to the email I sent to CIC. The letter with the refusal reason was within the package, with the full explanation as to why it was refused.
Email answer was pretty generic, stating that some documents were missing and that they didn't have details on applications returned.
Application was posted back to me on july 21st, and was delivered to me in Brazil on august 18th (although I only got it last week, cz I was out on vacation).
Email answer received on august 27th.

Thanks for the information. I am May 14th applicant and starting to get worried as my credit card has not been charged yet. CIC have been processing May 21st applicant already and a lot of May 14th applicants have received their PER. Based on the spreadsheet quite a number of May 14th applicant still awaiting credit card/DD charge, still hoping for some good news soon.

Thanks again and all the best!
