Unfortunately then it seems my fear is true - guys feel free to correct me on this though.

Seems he is being penalized for not having a 4 year bachelor's degree that is equivalent to a Canadian bachelor's degree, is it? Now that would mean a RED FLAG for all diploma holders in that case, wouldn't it?

BTW, how many years of work experience do you have - I think I saw 10+ in SS. Is that right? Sorry to hear this news mate!!!

The problem is not the number of years your program is the problem is that wes has declared it "study" and has not said instead three years undergraduate degree. If a diploma holder gets wes to say their program is a two or three years diploma as a Canadian equivalency his situation would not have resulted in a refusal. The problem is that wes has evaluated it as if it has not been completed so cic will not accept it. He could query the equivalency with wes but it may take a while for them to re evaluate it but if he needs the points it is the only option.

Brother,

Issue is the below:

Ur case:

Canadian Equivalency: Three years of undergraduate study

In my case (as an example) :

Canadian Equivalency: Bachelor's Degree (Four year)

So this means u have no degree completion currently....U r on three yr undergrad study....

which is the root cause of this rejection....

Hi Ashif,

What about this

Canadian Equivalency :Bachelor's Degree (Three year)

Institution status : Recognized
Admission Requirements: Higher secondary Certificate.

Is three years duration would be any issue?

As far as I knew until today in the forum the guy should have got 21 points for a three year post secondary diploma course and if he makes 67 or more with that who is CIC to object on what he studied and who he studied with? I just don't know what crap is going on, unless maybe someone can explain this to me. Yea, I am at a loss as well, Namaste! ???

Below is how he would get 21 points:

The problem is more with WES. Why would it say that an international undergraduate degree is not a degree at all? It should at least be equivalent to a completed 3 year diploma. Even if its a 3 year program, it was completed after all. It's not like he quit in the middle of a program.

I think its the quality of the courses studied during the degree programme as well as the prerequisites to enter that programme. My 3yr degree was assessed equivalent to canadian 4yrs. In order to be accepted i had to pass at least 4 subjects at an advanced level. So its a combination of factors. Just like institutions all degrees are not equal.

Looking at the above case on the ECA report, i am getting in to a doubt whether my Master's will be considered. Please let me know your thoughts.

Below are the details that are mentioned on my ECA report (this is from WES).

Credential: Master of Technology
Admission requirement: Bachelor's Degree
Length of program: one and one-half year (However my master's program was two years)
Major: Mechanical Engineering
Canadian Equivalency: Master's Degree

aww.. this is really shocking stranger :(

They sent you an email... so did they mention that they are not going to return your Application (by post) and did they forfeit your fees (you mentioned earlier that eCAS is showing "In- process") ?

You would need IELTS and ECA (2nd copy is with you? ) among others.

Good luck !

hi neel,
they were very clear on that : "Your application and supporting documentation are part of your permanent record and must remain on file. Original documents, submitted in support of your application, are also part of the permanent record and will not be returned. Once your application has been placed in process, no refund of the processing fees will be issued."
