[size=9pt] Dear, We are only making educated guesses here, no one can tell for sure. It is very difficult to be positive about something that is on the edge, unless one is watching a James Bond movie. And being on the edge does not always mean negative, it can very well be positive. Last year my file reached on the last date for 1112 so the Lesson Learned is to be safe than sorry.

If I were you and if going to Canada means a lot to you send this application, but may be also prepare one for 1123. Just a thought!

PS - If reference letters were to be rejected for this reason I wouldn't get a PER, and many others too wouldn't get it

It makes lot of sense what you suggested and I am going to take your advise. I will send my application in NOC 2171 tomorrow and in the next couple of weeks, will send another application in NOC 1123. Thank you very much for the advise. If only i could mark helpful, you would have got +1. Looks like im still a novice in this forum, hence, not able to mark. However, i will remember to come back and do the needful.

Dear guys,

I have a few doubts

1. In the settlement funds section, it is shown the amount of funds need as per the number of family members. Now for 1 family member, it is $11,824. Does this mean the principal applicant+one family member such as spouse? Or it means only the principal applicant?. Can I consider this amount correct for myself as the principal applicant + my spouse?

2. Is this amount in USD or CAD?

3. Should I show the funds after converting them to the required currency or providing a balance statement from the bank in which the funds are stated in Indian Rupee is OK?

4.My Surname/Family name is Valiyaparambil as per passport, where as in most of my school certificates and job experience letters, the same is abbreviated as VP. Will this be OK?

5. My father is deceased. His date of birth as per passport is 1/1/39 and as per his Military service record, it is 14/07/39. Is it better to give the dates as per passport?

6. Which authority can provide us with a proof of our assets and liabilities in India? Is it a Chartered Accountant?

1. 1 member means only PA. If spouse is included it becomes 2 members. POF needs to be arranged accordingly.
2. this amount is in CAD.
3. "provide a balance statement from the bank in which the funds are stated in Indian Rupee" and "mention amount after converting to CAD in application form for POF".
4. Use affidavit for name abbreviation
5. it is better to give the DOB for your father as per passport.
6. POF needs to be declared by you. No authority required.

Hello Everyone,

Sent the RPRF, Medical and PCC on 7/24 to CPC ottawa, received on 07/25 to Morreau at reception. ECAS Status still says " We have started processing your application...".

Should I worry? Please advise.

Here I would like to share my experience with you all...

In starting month of July, through this forum only I came to know that along with ECA report, foreign education credential (Degree certificate) is also required which I forgot to attached. Then I sent it by separate courier and mentioned my UCI number and other details. I was not sure whether it will be attach to my original application or not. But finally my CC got charged and received PER too. It seems that CIC people are very cooperative in this case and matched up the missing documents.

I would like to thank Ashif, Oscar 7, future_canadian, islandbabe who all have helped me a lot during entire process. Please forgive me if I missed anyone name here.

Now don't change our profit sharing percentage basis this at Oscar Shah LLP 8) LOL

My own explanation of CIC's intent is to get a total of 25,000 complete applications from 50 NOCs which means not all NOCs will get to the 1,000 mark. And the program will be closed as soon as all NOCs total 25,000. Else CIC woulda said a total of 50,000 applications.

Hi Fellas,

I am from India and I am currently in the process of getting my documents in order.
The application documents would consist of originals(e.g. IELTS score) and photocopies of the documents(pretty much everything else).

Kindly let me know whether I need to get these photocopies attested/notarized?
I have checked the CIC website and I could not specifically find any requirement for notarized documents.

I have asked my friends in person too. Some of their agents say that it is necessary to get the photocopies notarized, some say it is not.
Please let me know if their is a stringent requirement from the CIC that we get the photocopies we submit notarized before we submit them.

Also, my uncle in Canada is going to send photocopies of his Citizenship documents, etc. to include in my application. Does he need to get those photocopies notoarized too
before sending them to me?

guys my documents reached Nova scotia on July 31, 2014. I have applied under NOC category 2132 Mechanical Engineers. Am I safe within the 1000 cap? any idea? if yes, by when I should get a respponse.... also is there any way we can get confirmation of arrival of our documents at CIC nova scotia , i mean other than courier tracking...

One more quick question if you dont mind. How about the below two options for reference letters for NOC 1123

1. Affidavit filed by me with the job responsibilities and also the same given by my ex-colleague on a plain paper with his signature and employment details
2. An email from my ex-colleague from his current official email ID stating my job responsibilities along with affidavit filed by me
