Believe that stocks are not valid. one needs to show liquid funds - FD and account balance.

My understanding is the same that funds need to be readily available and my understanding is stocks are encumbered assets and not considered liquid

Hello,

1)I had shown a bank balance of $12500 and since its a long process which may take more than a year, can i move this money into fixed deposit now? and when asked can i show fixed deposits as POF.

2) Can these FD's be kept under me and my dad's name? Mean primary and secondary holders.

Thanks.

Hi all,

Need help for one question on the Generic Application Form. I am from India but currently in Sydney, Australia since Apr 2014. I will be here till Apr 2015. Considering this situation, should I give Sydney VAC as the office for processing the application? What if I am not here when the application has been selected for processing? How Does it matter?

Page 1 : Point#4: Immigration office requested for processing this application
What should be the answer for this question?

Please clarify. Thanks in advance!

You can only choose a VO aside from your home country if you've been admitted to that country for a year.

Is it OK if i dont process my child (2yrs old) as he dont have passport right now.... and send it later when passport is requested after medical

or should i go for passport which might take a month to prepare.

is it mandatory to process my child as dependent (including 150CAD)

It is mandatory to include your child on the application and pay the fee.

Need urgent help/advice!!!!

My fathers name is Satyanarayana. In all the documents(10th, intermediate, passport) its spelt correctly. But in birth certificate, its spelt as Sathyanarayana with an extra 'h' :(. Will that be an issue ?

Kindly advice

An affidavit will solve your issue

Do I need to submitt the police clearance certificate right now for my spouse but he is not accpumoying . We just got it for myself as I was only applying now it will take more time. Secondly since I am only applying so funds are to be shown for one person or for two persons since he is not applying .

You can submit it at the local VO stage rather than waiting for it now but you MUST submit it when requested.

Do your stocks constitute 'unencumbered and readily transferable funds in a convertible currency'?. see Section 15 of the Document Checklist. Much better to show cash...

http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/skilled/funds.asp

These funds could be in the form of:
•cash
•documents that show property or capital payable to you (such as stocks, bonds, debentures, treasury bills, etc.) or
•documents that guarantee payment of a set amount of money, which are payable to you (such as bankers' drafts, cheques, travellers' cheques or money orders).

Yes i can sell it anytime although my concern is i will be questioned of the source of the money. My savings account is different from my investment but with the same bank.

Dear Friends

Need your help

One of the company in which i have worked is closed and premises has been purchased or rented to some other company
or institute now.

And now i am not able to contact any authority.

As now i want to take me certificate of experience from that company what is an alternative ???

And in future if fsw will try to contact than what could be the outcome ???

pls reply

Contact anyone you can from that company who knew your duties and can write a personal letter for you. If you can't get a letter from someone and you don't already have a suitable letter from that company from before, you can explain this to CIC but unfortunately you won't be able to claim points for it. You don't need to worry about CIC verifying it because they won't bother verifying something for which you are not receiving points.

Does the OP have pay slips, contract etc for this company ?

I disagree. If the stocks are purchased in a cash account, rather than a margin account, they are unencumbered. If your bank can provide a current certification letter for your stocks showing value higher than the amount of funds required (in CAD) for your application, you should be OK.
