Wait for PCC request from your Local VO, and FYI PPC's are generally valid for 1 year from date of issuance.

Validity of the PCC varies from country to country, it ranges from 3 month to 1 year.

I believe you will only secure the Police Clearance for the latest 6 months you have stayed. Have you verified this with you agent?

"You must get one from each country or territory where you have lived for six or more months in a row since the age of 18" as mentioned on CIC website

I have the same question. I went ahead and issued PCC for myself and my wife after application was sent. Will this be valid for CIC as they also mentioned in one of their dorms that start for PCC ASAP.

Just wondering whether I will need new PCC as I think it will cross 6 monthes till the time they ask for one.

Document checklist says 'generally' as well. (section 18 PCC)

Validity of PCC from India is 6 month, but if you resided in any other country for mare than 6 months, in that case you have to get the PCC from that country also. And for the validity of PCC other than India, kindly refer the respective country rules.

Hi!!
I got an email from cic after a month from my email enquiry abt the status of my app n they replied that my file has been transferred to LVO . Now I had renewed my sons passport and my visa renewal is due in October. What shud i do now? I shud email LVO abt the renewal of passport or shud i wait till they contact me?? And send both my visa n my sons PP same time ???

Renew your passport, renew your visa. You will be told to submit copies of your current passport in MR. So at that time you can tell CIC to update yours & your sons passport info. or if you receive AOR then send them copies of old passport, & new passport along with a cover letter requesting them to update your passport info.

I got PER on 18/08/2014 - NOC 2133 - Received on 09/05/2014 although I did the following minor mistakes:

1- I forgot to write the date on the background of my personal 6 photos

2- I didn't mention any duties on application schedule 3... just mentioned : Electronics Engineer.. My duties mentioned on Reference letter

3 I didn't submit transcript of degrees .. only copy of certificate with WES report

4-I submitted original translation copies attached with marriage certificate winch are made by private translation office not notary

5- I used CC payment method... even though, I couldn't increase the credit limit of visa card, I used it by deposit cash money and hence, I used it as a negative account

6- Finally , I am so grateful to this board. I think citizens of Indian countries ( India - Pakistan & Bangladesh ) are co-operative enough to help others. Also I couldn't forgot Kollen, Dmitrych and romar for their efforts to this board active

Dear All, This is just to make u cautious that Your Local Visa Office may check your LinkedIn , Facebook and Twitter Profile for background checking.


Usually most of the background checking responsibility is handed over to third parties which can includes employer verification/police clearance confirmation etc. So who have these Social website profiles are suggested to sync with ur application provided job designation (or "Make Invisible to Everyone" on privacy settings).

I have observed one Indian applicant (on 2012) whose Linkedin profile was indicating that he had worked on Law background but he is an Electrician under which he applied...

Later on he was asked for an interview by his Canadian Case officer...She behaved so rudely with the applicant for the mismatch between his application and LinkedIn profile.

As per applicant, he was actuaally an Electrician but he had taken law degree beside of this and practiced for this law activities.He have not declared his law degrees and jobs on his Schedule A background declaration form. Later he admitted his fault that he hid on his app.

The case officer was not satisfied what applicant declared on the interview....

That thread member have not updated his status later.
