Don't be too surprised when you find out that a May 20th applicant is getting his/her application reviewed. Here's how I think CIO operates. They have dedicated officers who handle one or more NOCs. For example, there could be a few officers who just review NOC 2174 or related occupations such as NOC 2173, NOC 2171, etc. I think the reason why the mechanical engineering applicant who submitted his application on the 20th of May is getting his application reviewed compared to a NOC 2174s whose applications are in the first week of processing is because the low volume of applicants in the mechanical engineering category.

Hence, I anticipate an applicant in the petroleum engineering category who, for example, submitted his application on the 20th of July will get his/her application reviewed fairly quickly.
Its a good theory. But it will make the FIFO mechanization unstable. So your bacially telling that First in First out is applicable on NOC basis and does not apply to total application received. One way to monitor it will be looking into other not so popular NOC and see what is happening.

Hi folks,

Is it possible to change one's Visa Office? What if I went to Canada on a student VISA while my application was at Singapore VO? Could I change it to CPC-Ottawa?

Most likely they have engage a forward team to screen through the application. This will make the process faster I guess.
I couldn't agree more. Its really possible that a simple screening on payments (other than important considerations) may slightly decrease their pending applications for processing.

Dear All

I applied for Canadian student visa in 2000 but I did not get visa then what should I write for filling Schedule A(Background/Declaration) for the below response as I could not remember why they refused me.

"d) been refused refugee status, an immigrant or permanent resident visa(including a certificate de selection du Quebec(CSQ) or application to the Provisional Nominee Program) or visitor or temporary resident visa, to Canada or any other Country?) "

Could you suggest me what should I write for this.
you should answer honestly, by writing yes and explaining. If you don't remember why you were refused, just say so.

I agree that it would be great to find out the speed at which the not so popular occupations are getting processed. Unfortunately for us, there are very few applicants in the less popular occupations such as petroleum engineer, psychologist, specialist physician categories, oceanographers etc either in the FSW 2014 spreadsheet. Even in the official CIC website that summarizes the total number of applications received in the above occupations, there are very few if any applicants!!!

@ Asmia,

Many posters here have said that when the local VO asks for PCCs, they give 30 days for the applicant to submit them. No one seems to know for sure if local VOs strictly adhere to the submission deadlines they give as obtaining PCCs is a difficult and time-consuming process in many countries. You should, however, do your very best to get your PCCs ASAP, so that when the local VO asks for your PCCs you're ready to submit them.
there's no harm getting PCCs now they are generally good for a year

In the Schedule 3 form under question 12, there is no much space provided to brief about the main duties. As we are attaching the reference letters along with the application, do we need to worry about this bit? Or just try to stuff in as much as we can in the space provided?

Please provide ur valuable suggestion?

Regards,
Keerthi
I filled the space with the major bullet points from my letters.

If at all they Reject, you can reapply with a "proper" detailed Ref letter from Angel broking. Your NOC 1113 is not Hot.. expected to be available for quite sometime :)

You guys can't imagine the feeling I had when I opened a mail from CIO with a Subject "Application for Permanent Residence in Canada".

But I read it through, hopefully, til I get to:

"Based on a review of the information you have provided, your application has received a positive determination of eligibility to be processed on the basis of work experience in an occupation specified in the Instructions issued by the Minister of Citizenship, Immigration and Multiculturalism and published in the Canada Gazette on May 1, 2014. However a final decision on your eligibility to be selected as a federal skilled worker will be made by a visa office."

Oh my freakin' GOD!!! I got the P.E.R!!! :)

Some people stated that they got a mail with the points considered by CIO, but mine was just this (among other things) but no point mentioned.

I'm so freaking happy right now! I can't stand myself!

My best thoughts and hopes to all my forum fellows so you can get yours too.

I'm a May 9th Applicant. SS updated.
congrats!

Dear seniors,

Neee one help. I have submitted my application in AUG 2014. I need to submit US PCC of my spouse. How early should I start the process? In case I get PCC in next 2 to 3 months, will that be valid for 1 year or 3 months?
