Today my bank informed me that my DD was encashed on 1st Aug. My application was received on 12th May.
Does this mean I can expect my PR by end of this month?

You certainly cannot expect your PR by the end of the month, but you may be lucky enough to get your PER by the end of the month.

I'm sorry I should have mentioned that I'm applying for PR under my name and I'm in NOC 2281. My wife will accompany me to Canada. Does her intended occupation still have to be from the NOC list, or can it be anything and CIC won't give a care?

Dear Friends,
My name in all acedemic documents differed from name on Passport.(i.e spelling mistake)Submitted Affadivit by enlisting all documents with discrepency and WES report too as it is based on acedemics docs.
BC was not having detail of my name, provided Affadivit for same by myself.
Only Reference letter attached , no paystubs etc. etc.
Mentioned All NOC that i have worked till now, even thou not on present 50 eligible NOC's.

So finally CIC is working in full flow that too simultaneously on PERs and CCs/DDs.

As soon as 7th May rush is over we can see the increased efficiency..

All visa office is waiting for the transfer of bulk applications.... Delayed PER procedure will give more pressure to CIC.
So they have taken energy drinks.

Do I need to mention my travels from Country of Citizenship (Malaysia) to Country of Residence (Qatar) in the Travels form, as it says include all travels taken outside of country of citizenship or country of residence

It seems not, but I did just to be safe. It won't hurt your application.

Many thanks Future Canadian for the reply,,, i shall be glad if you coould elaborate on the following

My employer stated that i joined the organization in May 2005 as trainee manager and was subsequelty promoted iin 2008 and 2011 and presently working as Vice president. Duties and responsibilities include the following,,,,, here my supervisor mentioned JDs which resemble 80% to NOC 0013,,, My point of concernt is if my earlier experiance of 6 years under NOC 0111 is not considered i shall be constraint to 11 points which may hamper my eligibility. I have however attached my Employment letter of 2005 ,, subsequent promotion letters and salary stubs to substantiate my experiance. o other Eligibility factors are as follows

1- Age 34
2- Education (4 years Graduation as assessed by WES)
3- IELTS ( Listening 8.5, Reading 7.0, Writing 6.5 and Speaking 7.0 )

Your letter states that you joined in 2005 as trainee manager but does the letter say what your job duties were at that time? Or does the letter imply that your duties have been the same throughout your employment?

I can't say for sure but generally speaking we should be as explicit as possible with CIC and state what our job duties were during each level of promotion, or state that the duties remained the same. If they cannot determine what you did during a certain period you may not get credit for it. Try to read the letter as if you don't know your own history. What does the letter tell you? What does it conclusively state? Not having seen the letter, I really don't know if it gives enough information about those periods.
