though saddened, I receiveth this news bravely like a warrior

because defeat is for the coward and weak at heart, I had picked up myself from the 2013 disappointment and gathered all documents, completed all forms and dispatcheth same to be receiveth by your Ark angel, Mike, on May 12, 2014.

since I have useth DD I cannot currently confirm if you have taketh your fees, neither did I findeth any information on UCI and yet no PER

O my heart is weary but not broken, my patience dwindles but not extinguished, my hope swings but alive...

do send my PER O CIC, I awaited thee as this suspense is becoming unbearable.

agreed..but..how can he make them realize their mistake without anypoint to show them.. they mentioned some forsaken rule..and according to the very same rule he still is in the game.. so he needs to show them that he knows those (forsaken) rules too 8).. it was a suggestion to him to back up his points..not asking him to argue mate... ;D

No, I just meant that it sounds like flinging their regulations back at them, which are anyhow controversial. Even in the link you shared says that one should play safe, and must send the IELTS score if one want to escape rejection.

Their mistake is an obvious one, which Amritraj can prove by pointing to the Instructions Guide itself (IELTS point calculator on the CIC website).

Although the news is sad, but your situation is not. You do have enough points and your NOC is not going to fill anytime soon, nor will the overall cap.

I will go as far as saying that you needn't even send a second application. CIC already has everything you need to send them, and they are the ones who need to correct their mistake.

You have your UCI number, just contact them and let them know what the mistake is and ask them to rectify it.

Move it man. Don't say all is lost, because nothing really has. All you need is to contact CIC.

point taken but ...isnt telling them the to check instruction guide too in a way flinging their regulations to them..? yes the link tells to send the score card which he already did.. its just that they got a surprise angle R79..blah blah.. to scare him off.. informing him that he need'nt get surprised..just as a back up ..thats all..

What if one manage to get 6 bands in 3 disciplines and 5.5 in forth and can not apply and have to re appear and if he reappear in next IELTS he manage to score 6 or better in the one he failed to score last time but now get 5.5 in some other discipline. Can he be still eligible to apply since with 2 valid IELST reports results he scored over all 6 in all but not in alone 1 sheet. Funny but a factual valid question

Nothing is lost man.. Its a clear case of Incorrect Assessment on their part. I'd suggest you immediately write a Letter to CIC highlighting the error in calculation of Language points and "request to recalculate points (both Language and Overall) and reconsider their decision if you accrued the Pass marks (67)".

Hopefully they should be able approve your PER after completing the due diligence !!

yep! yes its important to score the pass mark in all the four aspects in one go :-X

"all d consultants r Not wrong".. his Case seems to suggest that only the Officer has committed a mistake in calculating the points.

Pls refer to Guideline/ table.. it says "Points per Ability" and each section is Classified as "Ability Speaking", "Ability Listening", "Ability Reading", "Ability Writing"... so there's no sense of awarding points on aggregate scores (or Overall IELTS Band for that matter) 8)

I also crossed checked wid dis to calculate 20 points....there is no specific example to state that if individual scores are added to arrive at final score or the aggregate score arrived from individual sections is used as d final score. We all till now have believed that individual sections score are just added to arrive at a score but may b not. May b all d consultants r wrong and CIC takes an aggregate score of individual scores and then multiplies the appropriate score on that basis.

Atleast ur case seems to suggest that.

That would also mean that someone can give IELTS 4 times, each time preparing for 1 module only, and thereby scoring 9 in that one and probably 1 in others. As per your 'scheme', he would have overall band of 9 in that case, with 4 result reports.
