1. If you want to be safe, have your spouse take IELTS so you have some cushion in terms of points.fundoo said:Hello Guys,
Thanks a lot for such wonderful support being provided by you people. I have been following this thread for past many days. Would request experts to address my each query. I am applying for 0111 and in the mid of collecting documents.
1. Eligibility Points
I am calculating exact 67 point as follows:
a. Age
My DOB is 28-07-1979 and according to this I have completed 35 years few days back. So how many points I am eligible to get? Is it the maximum – 12? (If not 12, I would be in trouble; total points will fall to 66). Please suggest how much surety of getting 12.
b. IELTS
I scored: L = 6.50, R=8.50, W=6.00, S=6.50
According to my calculation my I got 19 points. Is it right ?
c. Experience
Have more than 10 years of experience. So I am entitled to 15.
d. Education
Expecting minimum 21. (Documents with WES right now).
As I am meeting exact 67 (subject to age criteria), should I make my spouse appear for IELTS exams ? It will take another one month to September end. Is it advisable to apply without spouse's IELTS test ?
2. Passport
a. I have applied for renewal of my passport. My IELTS score card was given on old passport basis. So I will need to provide Xerox of old passport along with the IELTS Score card. Right ? Do I require to mention this in a separate explanation sheet ?
b. I am staying on rent in same place for past 3 years. So while applying for passport for my whole family, I mentioned my permanent address as same (not to complicate the things further). What could be the implications of this ?
3. Reference Letter
I have worked in following companies in last 6 years:
Company A : Nov 05 – Dec 09, Period 4 years
Company B : Jan10-Apr11, Period 1.25 yrs.
Company C: Apr11- Till Today, Period 3+yrs.
- I have got reference letter from A.
- B got shut down. There is no existence as of now. I have all other documents (Joining, Appraisal, Experience/Relieving, Salary detail, but not salary slips). I can get reference letter from my senior (in that company), who is in another company now. What is the best way in this situation?
- C is my current organization. I have no hope of getting reference letter from the company. However, I can try any of my colleague/senior team member to submit reference letter on plain paper with his business card. What could be the best wayout ?
- Is there any need to arrange reference letters from companies before A ? Or any other paper ?
4. Fund
I need to show $18100, Approx Rs 1.1 Mill (for three members). I have already parked my savings in one property. I have:
PF – I have some Rs. 3.50 Lacs. I read somewhere in this post that it is acceptable as POF. Is this right ? What documents do I need to prepare for this ?
MF- I have some Rs. 2.50 Lacs in MF. Can I show the original statements ? Or do I need to withdraw money to trf to my saving account to show liquid money ? If yes to any of these options, what documents to be prepared ?
Saving Account- Have some 1.50 Lacs.
Property – Have one plot in the name of my spouse. Registered value is 14 lacs (loan against it Rs. 14 Lacs, rest paid in cash/black). Any possibility to show this ? and How ?
Gold Jewellary – Have gold jewellary worth around Rs.5 Lacs. Can I show this as fund? If yes, how? If now, can I take gold loan show the liquid money for the time period?
If from above possibilities, I am unable to gather Rs.11 lacs, I would have to borrow money from somewhere. So for sure, I can not show my account statement, so I would go with balance certificate. So as a backup paper, can I show:
- That I gave some money to my friend as a loan which I got back. If yes, what documents?
- That I sold my gold jewellary. If yes, what documents?
- I got it as property settlement of my father. If yes, What documents ?
- Any other idea?
5. Birth Certificate
Both me and my spouse don't have BC. And I have checked it is time taking process to get BC. Our Matriculation certificate shows name of Father only along with birth date. So would it be ok to submit this along with affidavit from our respective parents ? Any alternative ?
6. Marriage Certificate
Don't have one. Any alternative to this? In Punjab, we have strange rule. One person from family of both sides, councillor from both sides have to be present for certificate. Have to do this if no way otherwise. Please suggest.
7. PCC
At this point of time, when I am approx. one month away from filling application, I can arrange PCC (I have done three passport enquiries by bribing police officer in the Police station itself ;D, so no issue). Is it advisable to procure PCC at this time ? I heard PCC is valid for one year. Also, how many years do police verify? I was in another city before this location. Please advice.
And finally what do you think of my case after such complexities. ;D
Request you again to try to attempt each question. Dear Experts, this is your test.
Regards. :-*
2. To be safe I would mention your renewal in an annexure and supply a copy of the old one as well so it matches your IELTS. Not a problem.
3. Yes, personal letters from seniors are acceptable and are the best way if a company letterhead letter isn't available.
4. Property and jewelry are not acceptable as settlement funds. Only liquid and unencumbered funds are acceptable. PF, yes if it can be liquidated when you emigrate. FD, savings, mutual funds, stocks and bonds, yes. Also note that you CANNOT borrow the settlement funds from another person or from a bank. You must have the funds and show proof of them at the time of application, probably again to local VO, and once more upon landing. They may ask for detailed statements for several months or more and will investigate anything that seems like a loan. If they find that you are representing borrowed money as settlement funds it is a guaranteed rejection and a ban from Canada for 2 years or longer.
5. The Guide and document checklist will tell you what alternatives to BCs are acceptable.
6. You must provide LEGAL PROOF of your marriage. Get one.
7. You can provide the PCCs later, don't delay your application by waiting for them now.
What is your NOC?
Good luck.
