CIC isn't that concerned with your title. They want to know what NOC your jobs were in. It makes sense to mention the NOC title for clarity. For example I entered "Manager/Financial and Investment Analyst" for my positions. The difference between "University Lecturer" and "Lecturer" is basically nothing and will not make a difference to the application. Still, in my opinion it is better to guide CIC where you want them to go, by including the NOC title as at least part of your designation on the form.

my documents are on its way to nova scotia (dispatched yesterday with Fedex).. i am from Guyana (Caribbean) and my application will be processed in Trinidad... Is anyone on this forum aware of the processing time there? I am hoping with the revised FSWP structure in 2013, it will take less than 1 year...

u will fill 1 form in which u will be the applicant & the other Iin which ur wife will be applicant & U as spouse with ur wife's family information. .. good luck

I am requesting to all members to give some input on this issue. I am really in hard situation now. Plz help me guys........ My query is as follows :

I am really in tense situation so that's why seeking your opinion guys. I had applied under 2171 code as Systems Analyst in this year few program. I thought I am falling under 2171 noc code as Systems Analyst but now, I want to make sure whether my chosen NOC is correct or not? My day to day job duties and responsibilities are as follows:

1. Installed and supported applications on Windows, Fedora/Debian Linux servers.

2. Managed Windows network, Active Directory, DHCP, DNS, SQL, Fedora/Debian Linux, File sharing, Group policies, Print sharing and their interfaces for the systems.

3. Maintenance of the systems including latest antivirus updating involved in asset-tracking PC and security standards throughout the company.

4. Installation, configuration and administration on high end CISCO routers and switches.

5. Installation, configuration and administration of VPN's and Lease lines.

6. Installation of security patches and bug fixes.

7. Systems health checks for all security devices.

8. Having vast knowledge of spyware, content filtering, spam guard, POP blocker.

9. Handling of major security incidences and identifying the root causes.

10. Configuring Routing Protocols, ACL, NAT ( static and dynamic), PAT.

11. Maintaining and administering LAN network and it's interconnection with WAN.


Please let me know whether these duties are falling under 2171 NOC code or 2281. If this is not the correct code then can I resubmit my new application with 2281 NOC code before getting any PER/NER email from CIO. ur help will be highly appreciated. Thanks in advance.
