Your e.g. is right but the context is different.. that guy was born in India (supposedly) not Mauritius so the BC should be from the Munic, Corp.
In "godwilldo' case the kids are born in Saudi itself... so the relevant/ competent authority to issue her kids BC is Indian Embassy itself.. (as somebody said Saudi govt wont register/ count the birth of expats kids in their population or issue them any BC.) 8)

in FSW 2013, CIO has rejected application because birth certificate issued by High Commission of India in Mauritius was not accepted by CIC.

Anothor rumor, CIC is going to add a new job Category NOC "0000" and that will be processed irrespective of application recieved date.

I would suggest, you should go for affidavit along with the certificate from Embassy. Explain in your cover letter, why you have gone for affidavit. I think that will suffice.

For showing work experience, are there any other documents required (e.g. Income tax returns, Form-16) apart from Reference Letter from employer and the Salary slips? I was planning to provide just these 2 documents, if others are not necessary.

21 Jul is way too early ... wont suggest u calling them before 5 to 6 weeks at least. Even if you get the UCI is .. it wont be of much help until your payment is processed (ECAS will not identify you with a UCI but without any payment) 8)

With call center agents .. it is highly subjective, even gender bias at times. So keep trying with couple of them (if you have free calling/ voip) you might be successful .. no guarantee

Someone has told me that u can call them and when IVR menu aske u to dial your unique client identification number, u wait for 3 times and it will autometically transffered ur call to available agent. They may ask ur full detail and can let u know the status.

I want to just confirm that. It is too early for me to check this as my application has just received on 21-Jul, but this can help others.

...and if you've already filed Appln. then that news/ rumor is "irrelevant" for you... just enjoy the waiting game 8)
