Whats the better option to send documents for ECA
FEDX or UPS from Pakistan?

Doesn't matter, both are equally good for Toronto Service. Problem is only for deliveries in Nova Scotia.

Also I haven't notarized any of the photocopies or documents. ... but my wife's birth certificate was In Arabic so I got it translated from an authorized translator but did not get it notarized I did the same for our marriage certificate which was in Arabic as well... both documents have the translator 's stamp andthe marriage certificate was also attested at the ministry of foreign affairs here in muscat...

+1 for you dear for clarifying that notarization of english documents is not mandatory....

I have UCI so whether I have to mention it in my spouse & kids UCI column as well in Generic Application form.

Yes Nishesh is right. Documents will go to Ontario. Should I still use UPS or FedX

For Toronto both are fine.

For Nova Scotia (in the future) I would go with UPS.

Great. Thanks for the clarification

What you both are suggesting is called Gold Plating in Project Management. It is NOT at all required here either, unnecessary waste of time (not value add). CIC is very capable to comprehend currency conversions.

Gold plating in software engineering or Project Management (or time management in general) refers to continuing to work on a project or task well past the point where the extra effort is worth the value it adds (if any). After having met the requirements, the developer works on further enhancing the product, thinking the customer would be delighted to see additional or more polished features, rather than what was asked for or expected. The customer might be disappointed in the results, and the extra effort by the developer might be futile. Gold plating is also considered as a bad project management practice

Well, I believe it depends on amount of effort required and situation you are in. It does not cost you much of time and money adding a page, specially if you are in dilemma whether to go for Gold plating or not.

Thanks Nishesh

Sometimes people are forced by obsession, on moments. And we all are at times! LOL

I also got all my photo copies attested as 'TRUE COPIES' since at that time I was not very clear on the process whether this is really required or not. And plus it cost me a mere INR 10 per page so to avoid lack of clarity I went ahead with it. This was way back in 2010-2011 period, though some of those documents are in my current file now! :) Sometimes we all make such errors! :) So can't blame just a few guys!

I agree that CIC can and will do the conversion even if you provide the equivalent CAD in your certificate...But this is not neither Project Management nor Gold Plating... Nowhere in the guideline it is written that you need to provide POF in your currency..its mentioned in CAD only.. So, if you have money in some other currency and you are just adding one line that it is equivalent to CAD XXXXX then it will never be harmful.. Everyone here wants to send complete application with all the details... And any additional document or proof will be added advantage.. And if you term it as Gold Plating then I would say any Gold Plating in this regard will help only... CIC Officer will not get irritated with additional proof..

And sometime customers get impressed with Gold Plating...

No. In that case, both of you would get 2.5 points each :D

Dear Manji man,

Both of you would get 5 points each as both of you deserve equal opportunity to go to Canada.
