Given you +1 for this...

As per your detail I have 2 queries... Seniors or someone who has done it please confirm...

Its specific to NDVO..

Question 1. I am in Delhi and may be I will be in US after 2 months and if all goes well I can get MR, lets say after 4 months from now. Then can I get my Medicals done in US or do I need to come to India (New Delhi) and get it done from India only.

Question 2.. If the answer for question 1 is that I can get the medicals done in US then also do I need to be in India for submitting the passport because if I am in US then passport is my identity and it wont be advisable to send the passport through courier to NDVO and wait for stamped PR Visa.. And to add that do we need to send the passport thru courier only or if I am in India (New Delhi) then can I go in person and give my passport..

Hope I am clear for my questions...

Dear Aha,

Answer to your first question is , you can go for medicals any where in world.
Answer to your second question is , you have to come back to India for vacation for possible 2 months (current range is 15 days to 2 months) in general cases for returning passports
Alternatively , you can ask your Visa office if you are allowed to submit your near Canadian visa office for stamping by explaining your current situation
Alternatively , you can send the passport via any of your friend/ relative (coming to India) along with cover letter explaining your situation, however after stamping your passports will return to mailing address with in India only.
(least recommended approach)

Hey Century,

I have put 15th July date on all forms and my package would reach on 15th July.

Is it fine?

Thanks

Oh Boy, why have you done that ?
Think, if CIC changes any of the forms tomorrow; then you will be supposed to send the latest form. Otherwise, I don't see any issue here.
Anyway, If you have not sent the application yet change the date to present day, sign it and then mail.

This is crazy.... I mean not your answer, but the situation in which our fellow friend might land in....

If I am right our friend here is travelling to US on h1 visa through company. How will his company allow him a trip back home that too for 2 months just after sending him to US?

Probable solution would be send the passport to some relative in india and then send for stamping. But all this while what will be his identity in US? One has to have the passport with him at all times....

this is a very difficult solution in my view.

Seniors........... Please advice what can be done in this situation...

Q. How to contact CIC via Phone Number?
A. Following are the Call Center numbers of CIC. Please follow IVR accordingly.

NOTE: It is not necessary that you will get information about Federal Skilled Worker Program. Do not call them before time [8 ~ 10 weeks], they will NOT be able to help you!

I think, if our friend is going on H1B to US, he has the option to change his visa office. He can request NDVO to trasfer his files to CPC Ottawa. This might take a bit longer time, but will be a safer option.

My application reached Cic on 4 June 2014 NOC 1114... I have made few mistakes. In Additional family info form, I have not written the names in native language and instead of writing my spouse name, I wrote my name in applicant space. Will that create a problem....

As per my understanding and Knowledge :

In some situations , CIC honours applicant's request to change the visa office provided :
Applicant can prove the legal stay in that country for longer duration or indefinite right to live.
Applicant must have completed 6 month stay in that country at the time of request for change in Visa office.

However , it would add delay in processing of Canada PR case as BC will Initiated at both the locations by respective visa offices.

Send a new application to avoid complexity

Hi

I haven't written my name in native language in application form because my name in my passport is in English and my birth certificate is in English so I thought it would be fine. Would this hurt?

Please advise.

Thank you

So, medicals is not a problem...

But offcourse sending passport by any means to India while living in US would not be advisable.. Its not even for identity but due to any reason if you have to travel to any country or even to come back to India after one month then that will be a problem.. I guess those who are in US and have put CPC-O as VO they also need to send their passport to Ottawa.. So its just a risk everybody is taking for that short period.. Am I correct??

One should ideally not send an important document like passport by mail / courier etc. It is not advisable, but I guess one has to take that call for themselves. I am not sure whether the answers given by migratecanada2012 are fine, as I am not sure of those circumstances, so I'll refrain from commenting on those. However, I do have comments to what you have said my friend, k_b. Some of these things are very much possible! :) Please see below:

Nice one as is expected from The Oscar :) well have to wait before i can give you another +1
