I checked with the forex department and the person who issues me the DD they said it is valid for 6 months.
Anyway as i said i am just all worked out i guess .. but thanks for the comments and help oscar.

Great, if u have already clarified the procedure especially related to attestation of docs, filling of Authrization form (don't remember exact name), and sending the envelop.

Btw i am also from UCP and faced this issue. In January ICAS was took around 7/8 weeks.

BTW shah sb replies frequently to ladies (and/or senior personnels) as I have been asking questions since long ... Unfortunate attitude Shah

My friend, I am a banker, international DD's are valid for 6 months. enjoy ur time, you are safe from DD's viewpoint

Okay, now you have one extra passport to carry around for the rest of your life so I was asking. My passport also has some out of date information but I am not planning on re-newing it unless the expiry date is around the corner. As it is I have two passports by now. And down the years will have more passports anyway so didn't see a point in getting a new passport issued just to correct some entries. Any ways since you have done that it's cool. It's a matter of personal choice!

Actually, the reason is by god's wish we might get the PR & move to new country. And if I am not changing her name now then my wife will get her pr card of her name of before marriage. Then i searched a lot about changing the name in pr card & passport and came to know its a long process once we are in canada. As we have to contact Indian external ministry, Patiyala House, New Delhi to get attested marriage certificate and many more.

We just got married & in a new country we start a new life with family in future ahead, then better my wife carry my name (obviously, i am not rigid) but if she can have then its good.
That was the reason why i opted that now.

Thanks. WES does not have my university in the list. I am going for ICAS.

I didn't know that WES handles only specific universities in a list. I guess the list of universities you are talking about are 'AccessWES' linked universities that have access to WES system and can approve a WES applicant online immediately. For other universities, they contact the registrar by email or regular mail to verify the name and certificates of the applicant.

Which means, they do ECA assessment for any recognized university in the world. (Recognized here means recognized by country's board of higher education or national recognition).

Correct me if I am wrong.

Thanks to this forum. I was able to compile my app for 1112 which was received on 06th June 2014. The cap has come reached 116, but the status is as on 04th May 2014. Is that true that the applications received are already 116 until 04th May 2014.

I think they might not have updated the date. I am not sure if I am still in the fray?

Please clarify.

Dear Future Applicants:

Before submitting your application, do the following last moment check: Most Frequent Errors​

• Ensure counting all the pages of form.
• Ensure writing your full name at the last page of generic form.
• Ensure selecting correct visa office
• Ensure writing names in native languages
• Ensure writing name, DoB, photo taken date at the back of photos
• Ensure including self-addressed labels
• Ensure while filling form IMM5406 by your spouse, s/he is applicant
• Ensure Assets = Your property + settlement fund
• Ensure Settlement fund is owned 100% by you or your spouse or jointly by both
• Ensure providing original ECA, IELTS, and PCC
• Ensure providing photocopy of degree/master certificate
• Ensure birth certificate contains applicant's name, parent's name, and DoB
• Ensure using DD;
• If using CC, ensure diligently fill all the field of Section B of payment form: amount, card holders name, signatures, card numbers, CVV, expiry date, and type of card.
• If using CC, keep it inside a vault.
• One application, only one intended NOC;

Yes you are right, however I am not sure about the recognized institution bit.

It either could be recognized by the country's board of education and/or recognized by WES

I feel it is rigid to do it.. Implications of changing surname:
- Change name in banks
- Passport
- Voter id card
etc etc
why change the name...

I was checking the data in the spreadsheet and there are only 9 entries which have received medical requests and all are from Ottawa VO. Has no one else received the medical request or is the sheet not updated for it?
