This is not true. The caps are updated based on the number of COMPLETE applications CIO receives. A compelete application may not be eligible for processing. Hence the numbers updated do not necessarily reflect those applications wherein PERs have been issued.

Would I get some notification from CIC if my application is selected for processing? Or should I just keep looking at my credit card account to see when the application fee is charged?

What date your application was received at CIO?

Thanks I will do just that. I was not basing this on my assumption but just from my previous experience and from the information on the CIC website.

Yes you will receive communication from CIO office if your application has been placed into processing.

Into processing would not send a notification as I believe.

- Your CC/DD gets charged first (Most people get some notification on CC Charge and some can track DD) ..
- Then after that by around a little over 2 weeks the ECAS Status should switch to In Process .. (you can check this using your previous UCI number etc. if you have one) ..
- Very soon after you get a PER Email (which is your first official notification from CIC)

Note: This is to the best of my knowledge from what I have been following on the forum.

Just a quick question...WES webpage reads that official academic records has to be sent to WES directly from universities..I'm wondering...whether university will bear courier charges...
is it acceptable to courier official records ourselves once after getting cert. and mark sheets signed and sealed by university authority.? Please explain d process.

Universities won't bear the courier cost to WES......most academic institution have default fees meant for this transaction.
If your academic institution can released the sealed envelopes containing your documents,you can send it to WES yourself.
You will need to ask your school to know what is obtainable ..........maybe they can release it for you or they prefer to always sent it.
Either way is accepted......mostly,the cost will be borne by you either way.

Most banks are lazy to go through the process of confirming DD encashment ..........infact ,some will charge you for a supposed normal duty that needs to be performed.

Since you used credit card,the very first set of hint in communication you will get from CIC is when your CIC is charged.
After your credit card is charged,you will now get a PERS notification showing that your application has been positively received.

Dear Brothers/Sisters,

After a long wait of two months, I got the ECA report yesterday and Alhamdulillah sent my application to CIC today.

One thing I would like to share: Never go for ICAS. NEVER!!!

Seeing our SS and CIC's official update, I really hope I am not late for 2281. My file will be received on 02/07/2014 (estimated). SS already updated

It gives me immense pleasure today to announce that my cc is finally charged after 50 days of application received.

NOC : 2173
Sent date : 1st may
Received Date & time : 7th may 10:19 am
payment mode : CC ( HDFC bank)
Country : India
ECAS status(with old uci) : ECAS couldnt identify me yet.

Note : I immediately got call from HDFC bank to confirm the transaction .
