What do you mean by TRV? Mine is a tourist visa, or a V1 visa category. Right beside C REC / REC F there is an eight digit number, an alpha-numeric number actually, which is in no way related to my UCI (my UCI is all numeric). My tourist visa is from mid-2000s while UCI was generated post 2010.

TRV = Temporary Resident Visa = Tourist Visa = V-1 Category Visa

How did you know that the 8-digit number is in no way related to your UCI? I don't know if there's any difference on your case but this is the same number that CIC wrote on the UCI section in my Generic Application form from FSW 2013.

Unfortunately I cannot find the old passport I have with my TRV that's pre-2000 to compare.

My travel was in 2009. There is a code on bottom left on the TRV but it is NOT the UCI because it starts with 'B'.

UCI is ALL NUMERIC.

sorry for the confusion guys, please forget about "bottom left". I mentioned "RIGHT BESIDE C REC/REC F", please check that out. I used this to login to ECAS, maybe you can try the same.

Brother,

Over Phone:

 Procedure to get CIC agent on phone
 Call at – 0016139444000
 Select 1 for English
 Then 1 for foreign affair
 2 for immigration
 Call is being transferred to CIC
 Then 1 for English
 2 for status
 1 for PR
 When it asks you to enter UCI number just be on hold n let it say it 3 times then the call is automatically transferred to an agent
 Agent will ask information about last name, first name, date of birth, application received date, email id etc.

Hi Ashif I tried to catch the agent over the phone for info on my application. .... but my hard luck as waiting time to reach him is 30 mins ::) :'( :'(

LOL that's a funny question! Of course I know that both are totally unrelated by reading both these numbers for my case. :P That alpha-numeric number stamped on my V1 visa and the UCI number I received on my return package have nothing in common (as seen by visual inspection/ comparison). Hope that clarifies, mate!

Not disputing that your TRV may indeed have a UCI. But mine certainly does not because this is the only document (TRV) I have ever received from CIC and that it does not contain an eight digit NUMERIC CODE (forget the hyphen).

I am sure yours is an Eight digit NUMERIC Code and not an Alpha Numeric Code ?

Please Advice....

Yes it is.

Which means its probably around 2010 or later that CIC started to allocate UCI with TRV.

Its the only explanation I have.
