Hi All,

Just wanted to understand, is that "Bank draft" is same as DD from any bank in India.

Which bank is better in India for this, I have accounts in ICICI and CITI, thinking to go with CITI, kindly suggest.

Thank you all.

Well its kind of same thing just encasement method is different.

Bank Draft
a check drawn by one bank against funds deposited into its account at another bank, authorizing the second bank to make payments to the individual named in the draft

&

Demand Draft

A method used by individuals to make transfer payments from one bank account to another. Demand drafts are marketed as a relatively secure method for cashing checks. The major difference between demand drafts and normal checks is that demand drafts do not require a signature in order to be cashed.

And you can go with any of the bank not at all an issue.

This is the best option to avoid 'charging credit card' issues. GT Bank issues Canadian dollar drafts, that's where I got mine.

If you are in Lagos, go to the former GT Bank Head office at Oyin Jolayemi Street, in Victoria Island other wise, just use your local GT Bank branch.

Thanks for your advice but in the instanceof WES (for credential assessment), it is stated that they accept cheques from Canadian banks only.
and I picked the option of using a cheque/money order. would your advice work in this case? please clarify

And in the case of using my debit card as suggested by another forum member, overtime I realised it doesn't work except one is using credit card as stated in the payment options.

They count applications received from the 1st day of May 2014. Any applications received prior to this period will be treated as 2013 applications and if your eligible occupation's cap is reached,it will be returned to the sender.

Applications are treated on a FIFO (First In First Out )basis from the 1st of May 2014.

what about applicants who sent their apps between april 26th and may 1st under NOCs which weren't available for fsw 2013? these i was curious about... i think there were some opened this year, which weren't there last year, and people applied right away (april). or am i wrong? just wondering should we expect people who sent their apps since april 26th to be charged first, in comparison to those who sent their apps after may 1st (in terms of obtainin PER). i'm thinking these days the first applicants should be processed...

demand drafts are actually a specific type of bank drafts. they are categorized under bank drafts. when ever you are demanded to make a payment, your bank makes a draft on behalf of you, against the funds you provided, so that you can make a "demanded" payment anywhere else in the world with this draft that is backed by authenticity and reliability of your issuing bank. it is also a proof that you have that much funds available with you.

you can chose multinational bank for this purpose, as they have more contacts worldwide as compared to local banks, they can help your dd get cashed faster then the local ones.

The system they use called GCMS - it stores all the database of generic form of all the applicants. And they kept the information for 10 years.
hey i just looked up the email i've received after my app was returned.. look what it says.. that's another reason they don't keep such a thorough record:
"Dear Sir/Madam:

Please be advised that your application was returned with all attachments on October 4, 2013. It was deemed incomplete. A letter of explanation was provided along with the application package.

Please note: the new Schedule 3 and original ECA were returned via regular mail on October 16, 2013.

We do not keep detailed records of each application returned so I am unable to provide more case specific details.

Please note: all returned applications are sent via regular mail to the mailing address as entered on the application package. There is no tracking number. Once the application is mailed, its delivery is the responsibility of the postal service."
just a food for thought! :)

dude you should count your HSC under high school category and in Canada all education between primary and college/uni is counted under high school category. your univ/college should be between 3 - 4 years depending what degree your studied.
