Hi everyone,

I was hoping I could get a sense of when NOC 2172 - Database analysts and administrators gets filled? I am trying for this category but I cannot get an IELTS date before 7 June!

I am very worried the cap will be reached by the time I send my application. The rest of my documents are complete, it is just here where I am facing an issue.

Also on an unrelated note, can one send in their application for two NOC's at once? Just to improve my chances of qualifying?

I would be very happy if people would share so that I know too. This forum is great and it really helped me during my visitor visa application as well.

Thanks!

Dear Seniors,

Need clarification with the letter received from CIC via my representative:

In the first paragraph it says "We have now completed the assessment of your application and
have determined that you are not eligible for processing in this category."

On the middle part of the letter it says" Your application was received after the cap" (shortened)

Question 1: Did they really check my documents? If they do, should I get a UCI number?

Question 2 : OR Is it correct to assume that they did not see my documents at all since cap is already full.
My file sent on July 2013. My forms returned to me as it was, no other markings/stamp on my documents.

Where can I see my UCI number?

Do all applicants get UCI number on their first apply even if cap reached?

thanks for the help....

UCI no is generally written on background declaration form. Pls check all forms though

Please let me know?

Thanks

I see you sent the application on 29th april which is before the lauch of 2014 fswp? are you sure you used all latest forms. Last year there was a mess of old and new forms being used.
Just double check the forms that you used.

I think you are ok... Looks like this will get filled after 2-3 months by looking at the spreadsheet or perhaps more...

Could you please share the link to the spreadsheet? So that I have an idea?

I didn't see CPP-O, the website showed CPC-Ottawa, ON for applications within Canada and USA.

See this link.

does it matter CPP or CPC, anyways??

CPP is old name. It is now CPC. Doesn't matter

To All:

Please read checklist 10 time before packing the documents. Highlight every line & every word so that you know you haven't missed something. Ask your wife/husband or someone you trust to go through with you one time so everything checks out. You can't alone deal with all the pressure. Do not hurry in sending documents because its 1000 this time instead of 300.

Do not staple any paper including forms. Just use Paper clips to hold them together. Arrange documents in order of Checklist. Do not forget to put last 2 pages of bar codes (which are electronically generated) of main application on top of the package.

Do not panic if

  • you have stapled and sent the package. They won't reject on it.
  • you haven't arranged documents in order of Checklist and sent the package
  • you did not put bar codes on top of application.

These steps are only to make it easier for people at CIO to skim through and verify that everything is in place.

great job with these advice!! however, i wasn't thinking about it, but now you got me curious! i only got bar codes after completing first "generic app form". the rest of the forms didn't produce any bar codes. is this how everyone else got it? last year i could not even open the forms, since i've used chrome, and didn't realize it is problem with my computer, so i printed out everything from the other comp and filled out by hand.

Yes only Generic Form will generate Barcode. No other forms will. So Don't worry.

i filled the forms by the end of provided space, and then printed out addition page with the rest of the info. i guess this is the way it should be done, since otherwise, your forms will not be completely filled. additional page is "additional", not "an original form". this is my opinion!

Go with conservative 21 for your own calculations. If you get 22 points in CIC review, you will be on safer side. I know for master's degree it is 23 points.. and Ph.D 24 points.

i share your thinking!

I've made some improvements to the spreadsheet and the entry form - added missing fields (mostly for later application stages), added "Other" option for destination in Canada, added pre-populated values for some fields which have a fixed set of choices, etc.

Currently I'm looking into ways of sorting the spreadsheet automatically, and I'll check if filters in the html viewing mode can be enabled.

Feedback and comments regarding what else to improve in the form or in the spreadsheet are welcome :)
