How does showing proof-of-funds work?

Do I have make sure the required amount CAD$12,000 are maintained in my account over a period of time, say 3 months or 6 months? Because my account doesn't have that much money, however it can be inflated to reflect that amount. Can I show show bank one month statement that would clearly show deposits made to reach the CAD$12,000 or they will reject my application?

On the CIC website, it's specified that you use either a bank statement or bank certificate (fixed or time deposit) to show proof of funds. One is not preferable to the other but either can be used. So use whichever as long as it's a genuine document from your bank and the balance is equal to or more than the amount required for your family size.

my wife will accompany me..so i need to fill background declaration form twice for me and my wife. just want to check, whether declaration form containing wife's details need to sign by wife only?.

yes your spouse also has to fill the Background deceleration form and Additional Family information form..

If you can submit the TAX returns will help to make your applications strong in proving work experience. It is up to you to take a call....

My package took around 8-9 days approx. it stayed in Halifax for two days for what reason I don't know and I really freaked out the second day when I didn't see it moving but after that it was directly received at Sydney and signed by some Tom

I want to choose Immigration Office as Case Processing Center - Ottawa (CPP-O) since I am currently in US now. My question is in case I have to return back to India after applying for FSWP 2014, can I change the Immigration Office to New Delhi later for my final Visa Interview after my application has been submitted and CIC has started processing the same?

On average it will take 3 to 4 Business days... Expect it delivered on Wednesday of Canada of late Thursday...

Guys,

Will it be alright to show just one month bank statement reflecting the CAD$12,000 as I am a single applicant. Or you suggest I send them atleast 3 - 6 months statements. I'll putting in more than 70% of this amount now. Is it okay if they see sudden injection of money in the account?

Can anybody confirm whether or not just one month statement will do the trick?

I know my package took too much time in Halifax for some reason and their were few others who experienced the same thing though 5-6 days is enough time
