Hi guys! I have been a silent follower of this forum for quiet sometime. I have a query regarding my consultant. I signed a contract with a high profile immigration lawyer, who is very expensive as well. I am at the PER stage now. After reading the posts of the senior forumites I have got a feeling that I could have done the FSW process by myself. Can I terminate the contract with my consultant at this stage? Will it affect my application?

Yes from CIC perspective you can change or terminate the immigration lawyer at any time but I guess you would have signed some termination agreement with the lawyer.. If you don't see any issue and can save some money then you can terminate the agreement.. It will not impact your application in any way.. If it is a high profile immi. lawyer then he will also not bother much.. You would have already paid the amount for his work done till date I hope... So go ahead.. Sometime to prepare a case we need immi lawyer..but once your file is with CIC immi lawyers role is over... He can not influence your application neither positive nor negative.. As soon as you will inform CIC about termination they will directly contact you for the next steps...

You can sign the contract for a year, no problem (if you actually don't want to move to Canada right away). You can complete your landing and then continue to live in the USA for at most 3 years. You only need to live in Canada for 2 years within the 5 years after landing to be able to renew your PR card.

thanks to all who answered me...

actually right now my us visa expired .. only work permit .. so If I have to leave for canada I dont know how I can reenter into US just after getting PR .. the contract violation wont be good i guess .. so I am really confused now what to do .. :(

Hello guys,

As per link http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/resources/manuals/bulletins/2014/ob572.asp

Effective May 1, 2014, a maximum of 25,500 new Federal Skilled Worker (FSW) applications without an offer of arranged employment (including 500 applications in the PhD student/graduate stream), 5,000 new Federal Skilled Trades (FST) applications, and 8,000 new Canadian Experience Class (CEC) applications will be considered for processing for the period of May 1, 2014, until April 30, 2015, unless otherwise indicated in a future Ministerial Instruction. Applications must be completeFootnote1 and included within the caps set for each program to be considered for processing

Is it true about FSWP that it will or may extend till April, 2015?

Please reply at your earliest convenience,

Thanks.

Hi Harbir, Including me 4 are in my application. Spouse and 2 child are not accompanying. Only for me, But shown POF for 4.

Actually my spouse is not clever, her parents and relatives (in politics) influenced her and tried to tame me to their side/view.
I am in Top US MNC in good position, I never bend towards them. My father-in-law (They tamed him) is mum. If god take me successfully in PR process I'll be happy. I'll take my family after 6month reaching CA. Already she regret for what she did and meantime it will be lesson for her and fully turn her mind for our & children improvement.
I've not taken this decision emotionally, I thought going alone and settle there is better also got advise from some veterans.

peace my friend...

ahsan, i hope u r from pakistan..

i mentioned a trend here a while ago. the people for FSWP i know told there bank was not even contacted. its a random check i guess in some cases.

i agree with you on this logic, one cant hold his huge funds for long.
one has to invest/do business with such amount.

so my advice, be brave and take them out. i did so too ;)

plus 1 to u mate..

sir what is meant by POOR HISTORY of transactions?

is it necessary that funds once deposited in bank should not be withdrawn?

if we withdraw 10000 dollars and deposit them again after few days does it fall under HUGE TRANSACTIONS? or does it make something suspicious?

You should not discuss this on Forum. Its your personal life
